Fox News pays Sarah Palin as a contributor to their network. And apparently to be “fair and balanced,” they also pay Judith Miller and Liz Trotta to make fun of Sarah Palin:
UPDATE: Here’s what was said:
LIZ TROTTA: “Alessandra Stanley [of the New York Times] had the best line [in her Nov. 11 review]. She said the new [Palin TLC] show was like ‘The Sound of Music’ without the Nazis, without the romance and without the music.”
JUDITH MILLER (laughing): ”Oh, the Washington Post hated it, too . . . [Post TV critic Hank Steuver] said [Palin has] the kind of sound of a voice when warning you to heed the bears – it would actually scare the bears. . . . He said you just get the sense that all she’s waiting for when she’s looking at this great outdoors is to get back to her SUV for enough bars to send out her latest twitter about the beauty of the environment.”
OK, that’s what was said during the commercial break. Here’s what was said when the show came back on the air:
SCOTT: She has gotten a lot of heat for that new show. Some lefty groups, Ellis, are pushing Discovery Communications to pull the plug. How about at that for freedom of speech?
[ELLIS] HENICAN: Strategic misstep on the part of the lefty groups, as you mentioned. Let the woman talk. Believe me, the more she talks, the better off they are.
(LAUGHTER)
[JON] SCOTT: Interesting that some of these folks who don’t like her — I mean, she puts eyeballs in front of television sets, right?
MILLER: Yeah, and she got a network to pay her a million dollars per episode to do this. But I found the most interesting review to come from Karl Rove, who is not exactly a left wing lunatic, who said this is not going to advance her presidential prospects. This doesn’t make her look presidential. I’d listen to Karl.
TROTTA: And the numbers keep going down every time she makes appearance, her popularity numbers. You have to keep track of those. The more you see her, the less you like her. And overexposure is something the Democrats have to pray for.
SCOTT: So you think that –
TROTTA: Plus the fact that they can bank on the timidity of most men, who are so absolutely spooked by feminism that they’re afraid to criticize her.
HENICAN: Give her something on the Cartoon Network
PRECISELY!
And BOR talks down about her, too. Just last night, as a matter of fact and Gretchen Carlson and the fill-in for Margaret Hoover, both caught it.
Just imagine what these same nags say about Glenn Beck behind his back!
Old prune, isn’t she? Even with tons of make-up.
Ellis Hennican, Liz Trotter and Judith Miller. Well, there’s credibility for ya.. The most least believable commentators on FoxNews. And criticism from the Washington ComPost, who’da thunk? LOL!
I don’t believe the remark about Palin’s pollings going down after appearances, I think that’s a lie. And I believe the media idjuts are no more in touch with the American public than many of those old-liners in congress are. So they are trying to shape opinion and have their petty laughs at the same time.
I don’t think Jon Scott was mocking Sarah. I thought he was defending her.
Judith Miller is a disgrace - she allowed “Scooter” Libby’s life to be destroyed when all the time she knew that the person who leaked Valerie Plame’s name was Dick Armitage, NOT Libby.
She’s vermin.
Liz Trotta is a surprise. I will ignore her from now on.

His use of “lefty groups” doesn’t seem like something a leftist would say. I’m not seeing him mocking Palin. He’s surrounded by leftists and holding his tongue while they await their cues.
In fact, the men aren’t saying all that much compared to the two snipish women. Can’t help but think there’s a deal of jealousy harbored in their leftist-feminists hearts. That’s right, ladies, one million per episode to showcase Alaska—how much are you making again for your “intellectual” attempts at opining?

I recall about a month after the ‘08 election, Trotta was on Fox on Sunday morning, and went into a totally gratuitous, totally snide tirade against Palin, out of the blue. Really unhinged on the topic of Sarah. The elitist condescention was as thick as could be.
Just like this latest incident. Great, and Trotta is now to be a regular on Fox News Watch? Well, forget about me ever watching the show again. I change the channel the moment I see her hateful mug.
He was sooo cute and wanted to go with them. :)
Liz and Judith sure arent lefties in their commentaries, especially Liz. She has consistently blistered Hillary and Obama. And Judith sure played foootsie with the Bush admin. Dont know about their private lives.
