With all the darkness and corruption in our government and our world and the myriad political issues that we now must fervently follow, we still must never forget the horrible story of a woman who had committed no crime, but who was nevertheless sentenced to be executed in the most cruel and inhumane way by court order of one lousy judge. Terri Schiavo lives on in our hearts, and especially in the hearts of her family. Her brother Bobby Schindler and her family continue to speak, educate and provide support to many families, on behalf of the Terri Schiavo Life and Hope Network, formerly the Terri Schindler Schiavo Foundation.
The heart and gut-wrenching story leading up to Terris death back in March of 2005 is one that continues to haunt me. Ill never forget her black-hearted husband, Michael Schiavo, who pulled all sorts of legal and ethical devilry, not the least of which was to take up with another woman and have a couple of babies while refusing to divorce Terri and ultimately fighting tooth and nail to have Terri killed.
There is mystery surrounding the night she was injured, and Terris parents believed Michael Schiavo may have tried to strangle her, which could easily explain the oxygen depravation to her brain that led to her condition. One of Terris nurses also accused him of later trying to murder Terri with insulin injections. Shortly before her death, WorldNetDaily, covering Terris story, reported,
Michael Schiavo once tried to kill his wife Terri with insulin shots, according to a former caregiver for the brain-injured Florida woman.
The estranged husband -- who is living with another woman with whom he has two children wants her to die; he doesn't want the truth to be known, said Carla Sauer Iyer in an interview on the Fox News Channel program Fox and Friends.
WorldNetDaily reported the registered nurse's testimony in 2003 when it was presented in a 24-page complaint filed in a federal lawsuit alleging Michael Schiavo had forbidden medical professionals to provide his wife with any therapy or rehabilitation and had attempted to hasten her death while she was a patient at the Pinellas Park, Fla., hospice she ha[d] lived in since 2000.
After Terri Schiavo's collapse in 1990 under disputed circumstances, Michael Schiavo won a malpractice lawsuit, promising to use the money for her therapy. Afterward, however, he requested a do not resuscitate order, refused therapy and barred stimulation and treatment for infections.
There is speculation that Michael Schiavo did not want Terri to get better, because she then might be able to tell the truth about his actions on that fateful night of her injury. Of course, we will likely not know the truth this side of eternity.
Last Wednesday, Terris brother, Bobby Schindler, spoke at a university campus in Washington D.C. to educate the young students about the truth of Terris condition and how she was wrongly portrayed by the leftist media as being in a persistent vegetative state, which she was not. Nor was she on any life support systems other than being given food and water through a feeding tube.
Joanna Gardner, writing for the campus newspaper reports,
Schindler's talk addressed the misconceptions surrounding Schiavo's death, its treatment by the media, and its ongoing impact in today's culture, in a presentation both emotionally moving, and factually startling.
Schindler began his presentation by declaring false much of what is now assumed about the case. She was not in a coma, she was not in a persistent vegetative state, she was certainly not brain-dead. There were no machines, no respirators, dialysis machines, nothing at all hooked up to her keeping her alive, other than food and water.
Schindler explained that in the years following her injury, Schiavo made progress. She was able to go out in a wheelchair and was beginning to say certain words, he said. However, in 1993 her husband and legal guardian Michael Schiavo stopped all rehabilitation and Terri was confined to a nursing home.
If you do that to anybody with this type of brain injury, they are going to naturally deteriorate, and Terri did, Schindler said. Over the course of the next twelve years, Michael Schiavo and Terri's family became engaged in a legal battle over Terri's life; Michael argued that her wish would be to die, and her family sought the right to care for her at home.
This case is often talked about as an end-of life issue; it's not. She wasn't dying. She didn't have a terminal disease. Doctors said that Terri quite possibly could have lived a normal life span, Schindler argued.
Despite Terris family desperately pleading and fighting for Terris life, Michael Schiavo, backed by the forces of hell, ultimately prevailed, and Terris case was turned down by courts all the way up to the United States Supreme Court, which coldly refused to hear the case. On February 25, 2005, the Florida judge and executioner, George W. Greer, ordered Terris feeding tube to be removed on March 18th. He also ordered that Terri not be given any food or water by mouth. This is unfathomable, heartless evil! Terris feeding tube was indeed removed on March 18th, 2005 at about 1:40 PM Eastern Time. It took Terri two nightmarish weeks to die of dehydration.
At that time, I was a disc jockey here on the Mississippi Gulf Coast in Biloxi on one of our sister music stations. During those two weeks, I was horrified at what was happening to Terri and imagining what kind of hellish suffering she was undergoing and the anguish of her parents and brother and sister. I made several mentions of her terrible situation on the air. I remember on March 31st, the day she died, a vicious line of thunderstorms moved across the northeastern Gulf and into the area where Terri breathed her last. On the in-studio radar I watched the storm system track eastward, as I thought of Terris approaching death. When news broke that she had died, I announced on the air that Terri Schiavo had been murdered by court order.
That set some people off, and I got a couple of irate phone calls on the request line. One call was from a woman who claimed to be a nurse here on the coast in Ocean Springs. She firmly argued that it was just fine to kill Terri Schiavo that way. Of course, I told her she was dead wrong. I also had a call from a very hostile man expressing in harsh terms the same sentiment of the other caller, and I ended up telling him, Youre not gonna win this argument with me, sir. Afterward, he apparently called the business line and complained to our station manager. I was later told by my boss to lay off the politics of life and death and stick to the shallowness of the subject of music radio.
People who are in support of killing those who are in a state like Terri Schiavo are the same type as those who support abortion and embryonic stem cell research, both of which kill living people. Those people have no regard for the precious value of human life, which is made in the image of God. Not only do they not value life, they wickedly revel in fighting for the right to end human life, whether its through abortion, embryonic stem cell research, or the killing of poor people like Terri, who they deem to be of no value to society. Dont doubt for a minute that the new, evil healthcare legislation, if it is not repealed, will ulitmately mandate the killing of people like Terri.
Because people exist who support killing ones like Terri, people like Bobby Schindler and his family are so important. The work they do through their foundation is invaluable. Not only do they provide educational resources for us all, but they also give help to patients and their families who are in situations like Terris. The Terri Schiavo Life and Hope Network is certainly a worthy cause for us to support. http://www.terrisfight.org/
G-d bless this good man who has suffered so much for the last twenty years. He will not go unrewarded and someday will greet his sister in Heaven.
As for her murderous “husband”, the jaws of Hell gape wide in eager anticipation.
It wouldn’t surprise me if our current woes were some kind of divine retribution for what we did to that innocent woman.
I believe Judge Greer will also be down there right beside Michael Schiavo—barring the grace of God saving either of them, of course.
As for her murderous husband, the jaws of Hell gape wide in eager anticipation.
Does anyone know what has happened to the demon from hell who tortured and killed that poor defenseless woman? My heart still breaks over that horrible event.
The murdering trio of HINO, Greer, and Felos should all be fearing eternal damnation.
Felos, being a Luciferian in everything but name, would welcome eternal damnation. He couldn’t live forever alongside a competing Deity.
