Talk about hoodwinking the public! TSA led us to believe the porn-o-scanners would be used as 'secondary' if a person set off the metal detector. But that has morphed into 'primary' for the sheeple with little said one can opt-out and go through the pat-down.

What a waste of time and money for so-called 'security.' These contraptions don't detect explosives that could be and have been hidden in body cavities.

The Flyer Talk forum is a good source about the horror stories posted about the scanners and 'pat-downs' from the public and flight crews and the growing anger against Big Brother.

Movement underway during heavy air travel November 24 as National Opt-Out Day as form of civil disobidience.

the whole point is humiliation, breaking America’s spirit, turning people into sheep. Th only answer is to refuse to fly, just stay home, then the airlines will have to do something to change it.

Someone brought this idea up on another thread. If enough people act like they inappropriately like the pat downs, the TSA employees will demand a stop to them.

I think it is a hilarious idea. I can just see the Atlanta security area filled with people moaning and asking for more.

In that line of bad taste, I wish I could do cartoons:

Chertoff? That SOB. I've respected him since Clinton's Impeachment but Chertof shouldn't be making money off of Big Brother.

I'm going to mention this to Boehner's office come Monday. This should be investigated. If there's Whitewater-like smoke, then Chertoff's a goner. There are thousands of Demoncrats just salivating to get back at Chertoff because of his Clinton Impeachment management.

I want to go back to the pre-9/11 passenger security screening (plus whatever baggage, carry-on screening technology has emerged since then).

There is no way anyone will hijack a plane with box-cutters again.

Thank islam for it. This is the price people have to pay for allowing it to go on.

Remember the Budweiser Lizards? Chertoff always reminded me of the funny one.

Is there a single politician who is talking about this yet? If this and the light bulb ban aren’t task #1 for the new congress, you’ll know the election was a total waste.

If you read the article on Drudge re: Big Sis, there are organizations to contact and voice complaints.

US Travel Assoc.
online group: NATIONAL OPT OUT DAY

EPIC: The Electronic Privacy Information Center

Website: WE WON’T FLY

All should be available on line. Sorry this post is kind of sloppy, but I was glad to see places to be heard!
I cancelled my flying plans, for sure!

I emailed a complaint to the TSA a day or two ago. Their response? Thanked me for my input and referred me to the TSA web site.

What’s on the web site? (I had obviously already been there to get their email addresses) Basically, it’s TSA propaganda. They have a prominent link to a USA Today poll (must be very old) stating that 80% of travelers are OK with the naked body scanners.

If you dig deeper, you find the “TSA Blog”, which is more propaganda, including a posting about the female radio host who was intimidated for opting out, then ejected. They have hundreds of complaints there and many, many questions. The questions, they are just ignoring.

We must stop this. I, for one, am not traveling by air until it is stopped (I wrote several of the bigger airlines to let them know this — not ONE has responded).

“form of civil disobedience”

How about wearing some dark pants that hide wetness well and release the kidneys in the porno machine or during crotchal grouping?

This whole X-ray radiation and millimeter wave radiation crap is a bunch of hooey insofar that all the government can say for millimeter wave technology is that it is 'safe' according to 'experts' and that it is unknown about the long term effects of repeated X-ray dosing. Next time you go through either one of these, watch just exactly how close the TSA employee stands to the radiation emitter (of either class). Same with the X-ray technician in a hospital - behind a bunch of lead; mothers-to-be get lead blankets - which begs the question, what is the effect on possibly pregnant women travelers.

All the government can do is talk nebulously about some experts saying it's safe. Well then, dammit, where are the studies? Where are they published. Were they peer reviewed? No, they won't show or tell you about this. Because no self respecting engineer/expert would make blanket claims like that. It is just the same with power lines, RF hazards, cell phones, etc. The only ones sticking their necks out with experts are both sides of the industry, those with lawyers and those with company lawyers. Still no peer-reviewed proof.

I've spent my life in RF and I would not EVER subject my eyes, retinas and other smaller parts to millimeter wave radiation, eyes closed or not. When parts of the body approach resonance with the wavelength of the source, a condition for optimum power transfer can exist; retinas are very sensitive things.

These people likely have done any studying at all and are relying solely on markedly biased manufacturer claims. I do not trust any of them. I hope all the TSA people get cancer from their machines.

Agreed 199% this must be stopped, and stopped quickly!
1. They are ineffective.
2. Exposure to radiation is harmful, and frequent business travelers are going to end up getting a lot of exposure.
3. The pat-down are an invasion of privacy, and are again ineffective.
Dedicated terrorist can get past bot checks.

Organize for Nov 24. Make small handout flyers, and asking travelers to join together and object to the machines, and demand that the pat-down not include groping private parts, and be done in a private area.
Take the flyers to the local airport, and pass them out to departing travelers.

We must organize and bring this outright assertion of fascism or we shall lose all our freedoms for certain. JMHO

also act like you dont understand them or have Alzheimer’s disease. I do it to park in the white zone when picking up passengers-— when the cop comes over just act like an immigrant or old guy— works every time, they just give up

My flying days are over. Business trip? I’ll drive. Or take Greyhound. I will not allow myself to be frisked or x-rayed in order to board a plane.

This whole thing is ridiculous - If we hadn’t been trained to be a nation of sheep prior to 9/11, none of the hijackings would have taken place because the other passengers would have risen up and beat the crap out of the ragheads. Prior to 9/11, people WERE allowed to carry small pocket knives on planes.

I think that what needs to happen is that 2000 or 3000 protesters take control of a couple of major airports - just jam them up and take control. Shut the airports down. They can’t arrest everyone, and by the time they clear the crowd out, national air travel will be in chaos for 2 days. Have a couple more hubs do it again the next week.

I realize that airports have security, but they don’t have enough rentacops to handle thousands, and they aren’t going to start shooting innocent civilians.

You REALLY would not put up with techniques that can do that.

I said years ago that 9/11 in a way was a win for the Terrorists. They gave the excuse for government and forced us to these absurd over the top security measures.
Those that fly, at this point, are at the mercy of Homeland Security and the TSA. We are subjected to all manor of intrusion to fly. Now maybe that would be okay to a point if we had responsible people at the TSA. What in reality we are subjected to are low paid, untrained cretins who have let power go to their heads and have absolutely no common sense what so ever.
Their treatment of passengers in over the top and we must now revolt in some way to get this post 9-11 insanity under control.

I just canceled a business trip for six people this week. No need to try to demand the employees travel and get strip searched. This isn’t a prison nation and we all will have nothing to do with it. Let Boeing, Airbus and the airlines do without our patronage.
