Karl Rove appeared on the Scott Hennen Show this afternoon and got asked a question by a listener about the Delaware Senate race and Christine ODonnells claims that he conspired with Mike Castle to undermine her campaign. ODonnell also claimed that Rove was trying to avoid her.
Roves response? He said that ODonnell wasnt telling the truth.
He said that he didnt endorse Castle, that he actually endorsed ODonnell, and that he hasnt been trying to endorse her.
Though, Rove also admits that when asked he said that ODonnell didnt give Republicans their best chance to win the Senate race in Delaware.
Which, frankly, doesnt sound like much of an endorsement to me.
Rove also said that ODonnell added fuel to the fire of rumors about Castle having a homosexual affair with a young man by refusing to condemn the rumors. He suggests that ODonnell might ultimately have gotten Castles endorsement in that race had she reacted differently to those rumors.
Asked about whether or not the Republican party establishment needs to be more reactive to the tea party, Rove said that its the establishment that voted in these primaries and that the establishment is the tea party:
Rove also said that he hasnt said that Sarah Palin is unfit to be President, but said that her travel show about Alaska wasnt good for her Presidential campaign and that she was too busy filming that show to campaign for Christine ODonnell:

I’m rapidly losing respect for Rove.
He needs to find something else to do with his piehole!
If Rove continues to be full of himself, HE will be on the outside looking in.
Come on you Palinbots....Palin did not do a damn thing to make O’Donnell win in the Senate race after she won the primary (other than cheerlead from the side lines). If Palin was so hot on her, she should have fought tooth and nail to get her into the Senate seat. Don’t shirk the responsibility.
I find it stunning that Rove can say one sentence and decide an election. This guy must be the most powerful man in the World if he can do this. I think FREEPERS are giving him way too much credit. If this were true, then perhaps he should run for President if he has this much influence over an election. Sarah endorsed Christine and she does not get elected. Rove said a sentence shortly after the primary win and she loses. According to the way FREEPERS are acting, it shows that Rove has way more influence than Palin. Do you guys seriously hear what you are saying????? lol.
These Palinbots used to call Rove the “magnificent bastard”. What a couple of years does to people. Hahahhaha...!
The only people who delude themselves with thinking she would have won the DE Senate race are the Palinbots who delude themselves into thinking that she will be POTUS.
This post is not ridiculous in the minds of the Palin worshippers. Emotion takes over facts.
Thank you for saying it! I wish they simply go away. We have better victories to earn and win!
tried to tell folks here back in the very bitter amnesty and Harriet war on this forum with the harpies and their lackeys that Rove was a problem
on deaf ears
well...we were right ...how about that?
that goes for Ed Gillespie too
“Endorsed”? Who cares about “endorsements”????
Did she fight to win? Not at all.
Palin was interested in making headlines. That is the simple truth.
Breathe easy!
Don’t take life so seriously... You’ll never live through it.
Probably...
why is Karl making himself radioactive
That means that if the white community is split 50/50, the Republican has, at best 40%.
That's a big disadvantage to overcome. in fact, to win the Republican has to attract 20% of the white Democrats.
It turns out that there are nearly as many Independent registrations in the state as there are Republican, with about more than twice as many Democrat registrations.
So it's not 50/50 ~ it's more like 75/25, an almost insurmountable lead on the part of the Democrats if they get their African American vote out, and their hard-core white Democrat vote, and a small percentage of the Independents.
It doesn't take many Republicans to defect to lose it all in that state.
Some people thought Mike Castle could win ~ they neglected to vote in the primary. Frankly, I think it was a fluke when Mike won in 2008 ~ and he knew it. That's why he went for the Senate vacancy this year rather than his own seat in the House.
Maryland, the next door state that serves as Delaware's armpit, is in even worse shape. At the same time the recent arrest of Mr. Johnson, Prince George's County manager and his wife (and probably a lot of his friends) should help destabilize the African-American campaign machine lock on the vote there ~ so I'd look for some serious Republican victories in other elections over the next 3 or 4 years.
What is “wrong with us” is that we are sick and tired of the GOP deciding which Republicans are acceptable and which are not.
Christine polled very well in a state that is extremely leftist, who sent their senator to the WH.
What is wrong with you that you can’t see that the people of DE liked her? Had the GOP given her some support — INSTEAD OF INSULTING AND RIDICULING HER LIKE ROVE DID — that she may have actually had a chance.
She lost to a guy who referred to himself as a bearded Marxist. You don’t think an intelligent political party who had the best interests of its constituents (not ensuring that only those who are willing to play the footsie game once elected) could have taken out such a BAD candidate as the one who won?
What’s wrong with us is that we are PISSED OFF AT RINOS AND LEFTISTS and we want them destroyed. Utterly. Not “worked with in a bipartisan manner” which is what the GOP and Dems use as code language for “push the statist agenda, a little from the Dems, then a little from the GOP.”
Maybe so, but, there are those on this forum that love him. I am not counted in that number.
Good!
Rove you just keep digging that hole. You Ignorant Bastard.
Done with Rove. DONE!!! He needs to shut his trap. WTH?
What is taking you so long?
