Missing President Bush? Bush Helped Pave the Way for Obama
Amerisrael ^

Posted on 11/12/2010 3:56:23 AM PST by Amerisrael

After two years of Obama it is completely understandable that some are expressing what Michelle Malkin describes as "Bush Nostalgia".

Bushabbas

In the same vein that in 2000, after eight years of Bill Clinton,  many were hopeful and enthusiastic about then candidate George W. Bush.

But Malkin is entirely correct when she writes:

"The problem, of course, is that Bush nostalgia is indelibly marred by his disastrous domestic policy legacy of big government, big spending, and betrayal of core fiscal principles — the very impetus for the Tea Party movement upon which he now heaps glowing praise."

She also makes mention of the "amnesty bill" for illegal aliens Bush endeavored to try and push through the U.S. Senate.

Speaking of "betrayal", one of the most lamentable and tragic matters of President Bush's time in office was left completely untouched by Malkin:

President Bush's betrayal of our closest and most important ally, -Israel.

In 2000, then candidate George W. Bush, campaigned on a platform of being a strong supporter of our ally Israel. [Like Obama also claimed].

He promised that if elected president he would begin the process of moving our embassy to Israel from Tel-Aviv to Jerusalem. Finally implimenting the Jerusalem Embassy Relocation Act adapted by Congress in 1995.

A move, that if President Bush had kept his word on, would have greatly bolstered and strengthened our ally Israel politically in a powerful way.

Unfortunately, President Bush failed to keep faith with his campaign pledge. He continued Bill Clinton's practice of exercising the "waiver" to not impliment the Jerusalem Embassy Relocation Act.

President Bush had things backwards. His failure to move the embassy was against America's national interest. It had the effect of emboldening the Islamist/Jihadist enemies of both America and Israel.

And let’s go back to the decision to let the Afghan army take the lead role in the pursuit of Bin Laden on the Pakistan border.

I’m actually of the opinion that Bin Laden is dead. But still, even on Bush’s strongest issue, the military action in Afghanistan, he played the part of appeaser.

Nope

Evil American hating asshats who continuously lie to the American people about what is good and evil in the world paved the path.

Then of course the kool-aid drinking lemmings, who are ever increasing in this Country, believed the lies and voted for an unqualified dork.

That is what paved the way for Barry.

So, lemme get this straight - after all is said and done - it’s Bush’s fault?

Yeah, Thanks for that brilliant analysis.

And what president did you like? Don’t say Reagan because he signed a large amnesty bill for illegals. If he were president right now, you guys would hate him, too.

Of course, we will never have the perfect president as there is just too much politics involved.

However, Bush was far superior to what we have now.

All this pining for GW Bush shows how dysfunctional the GOP is. Things didn’t just go to hell on 11/2008. It’s been going on for a long time and GW Bush did his part to help.

Besides how can you respect a man who says the worst thing of his presidency was being called a racist by a thug rapper.

Yes. Isn’t it odd we have so many FReepers who like to mimic the liberal mantra “Bush’s fault”.

I guess the MSM propaganda machine is still working.

And your point is what exactly?

Anyone would be "better" than Obama. Even Romney. Does that mean I should support Romney?

I will never again vote for a RINO just because the fearmongers in the GOP establishment want me to. Small government conservative or bust!

Seems like another channeling of the most brilliant pundit of all times, Laura Ingraham.

RE: My post #5

When I wrote “voted for an unqualified dork”, I of course meant Barry.

Dead GOP presidents become God-like perfect....

It is sad to see Laura pile on like she did on Fox, it detracted my respect for her...everything she said was very “general” with smirkiness and she had it wrong about the fiscal “additions”.

It is sad to see Freepers follow the MSM and lefty mantra on Bush to the T. It doesn’t matter to them what the reality, the specific facts are...no matter how many times it is even pointed out here..their response is like the Libs “ Bush lied. Bush stupid. Bush created the deficit. “

I am glad Bush wrote his book ( though many of his critics here won’t read it).

I totally disagree with this premise. It is common in American history for a change in party after 8 years of a presidency. Obama was slick, new, supported totally by the media. In the primary, Clinton's baggage and personality worked against her. In American politics, like it or not, if the policies appear to be the same, then Americans will pick the better-looking, more personally appealing candidate. That's just a fact.

In the general election, McCain was never a good candidate, simply because he did not offer a striking opposition to Obama, plus he was OLD!

And, George W Bush is not trash, though we all here have not agreed with a lot of his policies. That sounds like something that would come out of a liberal's mouth. Why not stick to debating the issues?

“It is sad to see Freepers follow the MSM and lefty mantra on Bush to the T...”

Following the MSM and leftys?

Not hardly!

Please take the time to read the entire post.

Democrat or Republican, when wrong decisions and actions are taken they need to be pointed out.

And Republicans need to be held accountable same as liberal dhimmi democrats.

Not to mention his politically correct war strategy.
