Is Chris Matthews taking lessons from Ed Schultz on keeping it classy?
In August and September, Schultz got off a series of fat jokes aimed at NJ Gov. Chris Christie. After Schultz eventually stooped to calling Christie a "fat slob," he was reportedly reprimanded by MSNBC president Phil Griffin.
On this evening's Hardball, Matthews got off a fat joke of his own at Christie's expense. Matthews suggested that someone inform Christie that the tunnel he vetoed is going to be "a wide tunnel; it'll be very useful to certain people." The irony? Matthews' gibe came in a segment about Daniel Patrick Moynihan in which Matthews went out of his way to praise the late senator from New York . . . for avoiding personal attacks. View video here.

When he made this joke was he still on his knees or was he standing after he wiped his mouth with a tissue.

I’m no doctor of abnormal psychiatry, but I would say that the entire freakshow at MSNBC have lost their minds post-November 2nd. I’m not passing judgment. I’m just saying.
Isn’t Matthews a bit tubby himself? Seems like he would want to stay away from those kinds of name calling.
Fat heads are not physically fat; just internally messed up. This is why Matthews hasn’t come under close scrutiny before now.
Perhaps Christie should rebut with a "fat head" joke.
I’d love to see Matthews if he was in the same room with Christie. (He would pee all over himself running away.)

Mark, I was fortuate to meet Gov. Christie a couple of weeks ago when he visited Wisconsin, got my pic taken with him and Walker too.
IMO they are afraid of him, that’s the only excuse for the fat jokes.

Chris Mathews has the biggest breasts of all the hosts on MSNBC. He is nothing but layers of cottage cheese like cellulite over bones. He’s built like a fat lady.
Nobody could be like that with getting paid a lot of money.
Just can't be natural craziness.
Matthews could stand to lose 10 or 15 pounds of ugly fat himself. Maybe he should just cut off his head?
