Geez...They can’t give it away fast enough..
Sure. We proclaim George Soros Robin Hood USA. Wouldn’t even need a reality television show or a telethon to do it.
I’m no expert on tax policy, but this is insane.
I say we take Soros, Gates, Buffet and all the other multibillionaire voices of social justice/redistribution of wealth, seize all of their assets, 100%-leave-them-under-a-bridge-poor and give them to the poor countries, then see if they are still in favor of socialism.:)
I’m all for this if it means that China will waive our debt to them....after all...they are rich, we are not.
Excuse me, but f*** the poor. Let em die. Private charity and goodwill save more of then than any government programs. More evil is committed and more freedom is lost trying to save “the poor” than practically any other cause. Well, except for “the kids” or “the children”
Didn’t Ayn Rand say to let the poor rot? It’s not really about the poor or charity, it’s about phoniness and lefty delusions and illusions, etc. “Evil” capitalism actually saves and helps more “poor” people than anything else.
So how much further do we have to go into debt before the U.S. is considered “poor”?
Let us use the laugh test, pray tell who will administer this ‘fund’? If the answer is the same organization that ran the “Oil for Food” scam - ENOUGH SAID - EPIC FAIL!
and we ought to get rid of most foreign aid anyhow
So, if some poor guy has a 401(k) with money invested in the stock market, he would have to pay the tax also.
This is obviously not the historical Robin Hood or the Robin Hood from the most recent Russell Crowe movie, who was portrayed far more like a Tea Party activist demanding individual liberty and a chance to be financially independent than a redistributionist thug.
The historical Robin Hood responded to new taxes from a tyranical government in absolute revolt.
It’s truthfully a disgrace to Robin Hood to come up with this kind of nonsensical garbage.
Robin robbed the government and gave back to the people.
How much will they give us? We’re a poor country after all, look at the debt
Tsk, tsk. Silly you letting facts spoil the dems fun.
Actually, it’d be more fun than a barrel of monkeys if the G20 managed to pass something like this, because Obama would have to either try and promote this in the U.S. or he’s going to have to weasel out of it. Either position will be really bad news for Obama politically, and either way, his support is going to go down the toilet.
So the “Robin Hood” tax is extremely bad political news for Obama one way or the other. Presumably his crowd has enough sense to recognize this and is madly maneuvering to nip this thing in the bud while it’s still behind closed doors.
Robin Hood did not rob from the rich to give to the poor; Robin Hood robbed from the government to give to the poor. The only way a nation can be rich is to tax its citizens.
I also hear of government spending like a drunken sailor. The fact that drunken sailors spend their own money and not the money of others seems to be lost.
We’ve been robbed enough already. We’re now insolvent.
Time to beat the moochers back.
No more foreign welfare.
Whose definition of rich will they use? Technically, we are broke. So we should not have to pay a dime. China on the other hand should pay billions.
