Reid: "I Welcome Every Opportunity to Work with our Republican Colleagues"

After narrowly beating Republican challenger Sharron Angle and waking up to see a landslide of anti-Democratic voting last Tuesday, Democratic Majority Leader Harry Reid has declared, "I welcome every opportunity to work with our Republican colleagues." The statement comes as a 180 to the formerly anti-Republican Senator, who famously compared the GOP to those who supported slavery.

In a statement on his campaign website, Senator Reid explained how important it was to work together with Republicans, even though most of the legislation that the Senate has passed in the last two years have been down party lines:

"The message that voters throughout Nevada and all across the nation sent to Washington is that they want Democrats, Republicans and Independents to work together to find the common ground needed for real solutions and real progress...And I also welcome every opportunity to work with our Republican colleagues as we know the challenges that lie ahead of us know no political affiliation."

"Work together" from the man who said this last December:

"Instead of joining us on the right side of history, all the Republicans can come up with is, 'slow down, stop everything, let's start over.' If you think you've heard these same excuses before, you're right. When this country belatedly recognized the wrongs of slavery, there were those who dug in their heels and said 'slow down, it's too early, things aren't bad enough.'"

“Real solutions and real progress” can only come IF and AFTER the GOP stands and holds it’s ground.

America compromised with Japan, AFTER we defeated them with overwhelming force and AFTER THEY surendered, unconditionally.

The power the GOP presently has, has been loaned to them, and loaned to them to WIN, not to just get along to get along, NOT for COMPROMISING with those intent of the destruction of our country.

...Remember all the Democraps who jumped ship in 94?

Sure do. I think that is when "RINO" was invented. Later they became "Blue Dogs." They just move back and forth to the "winning team."

Unprincipled, money grubbing whores is what they should be called.

The Democrats try to act like the Republicans, and get away with it.

1) They practice trickle-down economics. The bailouts were trickle-down economics. Similar to giving the tax cut to the rich, in the sense that the taxpayers paid for the government funds being sent to large banks, and the automotive industry, out of hopes that their productivity would mean more sales, or that the employers’ additional funds would lead them to slow down the layoffs. The major difference between that and a tax cut to the employers/wealthy is a matter of fancy words, unless someone can explain the difference, which I fully welcome if neccessary.

2) Support for going on a path that leads to a prolonged war, while seeming to care about changing military regulation (DADT) rather than finishing off the war or declaring victory.

3) If they wanted to cram the legislation through, the GOP could do nothing to stop them, they simply made the process slow specifically to lay the blame for their own slacking off on the GOP.

Most of what they have is “fancy” words, which when you translate their true meaning is pretty much without substance.
