I don't usually post Twitter posts as source articles, but Dave Wasserman from the Cook Political Report knows his elections. I think his comment captures the truth of the hidden story of last night's elections - the tsunami hit hardest in the state legislatures. Over 1000 Democrat state representatives and senators lost their seats across the nation.

As we seek to decentralize the Federal government and return more power to the states, the increased power of the state legislatures will become more critical. And, with redistricting looming, we have planted the seeds of a long period of control in the US House and eventually, the Senate as well. It's truly unprecedented.

This isn’t over. There are many old timers that will not relish being in the minority. I can’t see people like Peloski hanging around.

Here in MI, we got a RINO governor however the Rs got a Supermajority in congress.

I’m praying “Right to Work” is the first thing addressed.

Reading your title, I thought about the higher rate at which Democrats abort their unborn children.

It’s hard to believe that just over a year ago, the guy with the head like a bowling ball wrote a book about the coming 40 years of Democrat dominance.

Has Carville been on any of the talking head shows after the election? Sure would love to hear what he has to say.

I would love to know what Hillary and Bill think of this too. Are there some Democrats who think that Obama is already toast for 2012??????

I saw Boehner on TV today holding up an electoral map showing how red the nation went yesterday but I can’t find it online. It isn’t high up on google images anyway.

Does anyone here happen to have it?

Wasn’t there also something somewhere about a 1,000 year Reich too?

I only wish they would disappear. But they won't . They're like cockroaches, they'll reinvent themselves as "moderate" Republicans or "independents" or even "moderate Tea Party" members. They are pathologic and dangerous.

Whenever a politician does something counter to the ideology of the conservative movement then they need to be booted out and marked as if they were a traitor, which they are.

I'm sorry that the lady in Delaware lost but I'm glad she fought the good fight and we didn't get that POS that now stated he'd caucus with the Dems. RINOs are just traitors in our midst and need to be held in contempt.

Now if we can just get all the libs to move to Cali or New York and out of Austin, I'd sleep a happy man.

You wonder what Bill and Hill think? Probably this: “Looks like our plan worked, LOL, they voted for commiecare under our assurance it would help them midterm, LOL, and now we swoop in pick up the pieces and primary Obama into oblivion, LOL!”

The best part of last night was watching that big house fall on Pelosi-—leaving only her legs sticking out!

A Third party "Independent" gave us another four years of the Obama Beta Release as a Massachusetts governor.

According to one blogger, the Republicans picked up 20 districts in the state house and added four state senate districts to the narrow majority.

I have an Ann Arbor mailing address just outside of city limits. I've gone from a democrat county commissioner, state representative, state senator, and congressman to a republican county commissioner, state representative, and congressman. Only my state senator is a democrat, and it took all of Ann Arbor and Ypsilanti for it to happen.

One thing that seems to have slipped over the talking heads is that this election is proving to be a referendum for states’ rights.
