Freeper Muawiyah interviewed by Arab Radio station (presumably) from Middle East (probably Hamas) in Springfield Virginia after voting.
Today one of his "friends" from Pakistan who campaigns for the Democrats pointed to him as a "good guy to interview" and the two young people doing an "on the scene" coverage of Americans voting in this historic election caught up with him as he was leaving to go home.
The young man doing the interviewing seemed energetic and quite interested ~ he was pretty protypically Arabic ~ and his pretty young assistant was just fresh in from Jerusalem, and quite perky WITH IMPECCABLE ENGLISH.
The interview went ~ (she held the microphone) "You just voted. What do you see as the overall situation that led you to vote the way you did?" Muawiyah answered "Well, the ruling party FAILED, so it's time to give someone else a chance to see if they can fix things. That's pretty traditional, isn't it?
Almot unbelievably the interviewer said "Yes, it is" and we moved on to a couple of other questions, and equally astute and quite obvious answers.
Both the interviewers were cold as could be ~ so they were pretty recently in from the Middle East. Muawiyah was asked outside of the interview "Is it always this cold?" and he told them about the four foot snowfall, blizzards, icestorms and a variety of other thrills of the vast Northland ~ as his youngest son moved up close wearing just his tee-shirt. He was asked "Are you cold" and he said "No, this feels pretty good". It was about 45F.
Muawiyah said he thought it important to address the question in the terms the audience back home would understand, and they do understand ~ which is why they have Hezbollah running one part of PA territory and Hamas running the other. No doubt they will switch places in the future.
One does wonder if these young people found anyone who voted for the Democrat for Congress ~
