I am not Catholic, but whatever our doctrinal differences (which at times can seem large) we should be able to agree on one point: the persecution of christains is unacceptable.
These people were killed because they proclaimed the name of Jesus Christ—period. That should be an affront to anyone that calls themselves a christian (Protestant, Catholic, independent Baptist, etc...)
Anyone that can brush off the massacre of a group of christians, because “they weren’t members or my denomination and we disagree too much on christian doctrine” needs to reexamine their christian beliefs now (because I gurantee there will come a day when you’ll be asked to give an account of that belief before God, and the “they weren’t members of OUR churc” excuse won’t cut it).
Agreed. Actually, the Pope and local bishops in areas where atrocities against Catholic and Protestant Christians have happened have spoken out against it and defended the other churches, too, and they have spoken out against the atrocities committed in Africa against Evangelical groups.
That should be an affront to anyone that calls themselves a christian (Protestant, Catholic, independent Baptist, etc...)

Very well said-- thanks.
...And this empowered evangelical completely agrees with your premise.
It is time for the church militant to rise up courageously....:
First in fasting and prayer---
Then likewise with a purposeful and prophetic voice...
Speaking truth to these malevolent powers in the Holy Name. The Word proclaimed never returns void...

As the rain and the snow come down from heaven,
and do not return to it without watering the earth
and making it bud and flourish,
so that it yields seed for the sower
.... and bread for the eater,
So is my word that goes out from my mouth:
It will not return to me empty,
but will accomplish what I desire
and achieve the purpose for which I sent it.
