Meg Whitman Spends $163 million to Lose the California Election
Locust Blog ^ | October 28th, 2010 | James Buchanan

Posted on 10/28/2010 6:09:05 PM PDT by SoConPubbie

After defeating Steve Poizner in the Republican primary, it looked as though Meg Whitman would simply steamroll the Democrat candidate. Meg Whitman had been the CEO of e-Bay and became a billionaire in the process. The idea of a successful businesswoman running California had a strong appeal, but an over-managed campaign by inept advisers and Whitman’s inability to take a stand on key issues of the greatest importance to California doomed her campaign to failure.

The individual running against Meg Whitman is none other than aging hippie retread, Jerry Brown, the same bungler who allowed California state workers to unionize, which led to salary and pension deals, that are helping to drive California toward bankruptcy. You’d think Whitman might have mentioned that in a few commercials, but her dream team of “genius” political advisers either didn’t think it was important or they were afraid of offending the union members.

A recent news article reports “Democrat Jerry Brown has opened up a wide lead over his Republican challenger, Meg Whitman, with just eight days left before Election Day, a new LA Times/USC poll has found. Brown’s lead over Whitman has jumped to 13 percentage points. Of the voters surveyed, 52% said they would vote for Brown while just 39% said they planned to vote for Whitman.”

Meg Whitman has failed over and over to make her positions clear on the issues. When the Arizona immigration law SB1070 became national news, Whitman could have clearly voiced her support for it, but instead she produced a bewildering answer that it was OK for Arizona, but bad for California because California is bigger. Why should the size of California matter?

Still name calling.

You don't to acknowledge how Radical and Dangerous a Dem controlled Gov and State House would be in your posts.

The Calif Dems are planning to take away all Private healthcare insurance, massive income tax increases, more forced unionization ,and dismantle Prop 13 and your worried about a single issue that Dem control will only make worse ?

And you ignore all those facts about Moonbeam and you come here to smear Whitman .

The sitting on the fence thing has gotten old.

No one believes your sitting on a fence.

LOL, of course not, the rest of the people here can read, and have read post 49, where I announced that I have made a decision and that I am not voting for the despicable Meg Whitman.

If you would read our posts, it would make it easier on everyone, and make for less repeat posting.

California voters want this guy?

http://www.eyeblast.tv/public/checker.aspx?v=hdSUuzkUZu

Interviewer: You said you had a plan for California and you lied because you didn’t have a plan?

Jerry Brown: You say you’re going to lower taxes, you’re going to put people to work, you’re gonna improve the schools, you’re going to stop crime… crime is up, schools are worse, taxes are higher. I mean be real!

California is a blue state, almost like Massachusetts or New York.

Not even close.

FWIW, I’ve lived in LA County all my life and I agree with Savage on this.

Stand for something and win, or stand for nothing and lose.

Conservatives win. Squishes lose.

MW: Absolutely. It is controversial. And by the way, I respect your position on this. I really do respect your position on this, and smart, intelligent, nice people can agree to disagree on this because they are tough issues. My view is that if we are going to be pro-choice, that people do have the ability to have an abortion if they think it is the right thing for them, subject to the rules that we just described, that it needs to be available to all women, and whether you are rich or poor, you need to be able to access that right. And it’s unfair to women who can not afford an abortion, and that’s why I support public funding.

So ncalburt, do you support the murder of babies like your candidate does?

Incredible! Posters are attacking M.W. when J.B. is far more liberal. As one freeper stated: With no other choice, I would rather have somebody I agree with 60% of the time than somebody I agree with 6% of the time. California is a blue state! One thing I like about M.W. is that at least she spend her own money. Good for her!

Let me ask you a hypothetical question:

Let's say you have two people who hold the very same despicable position, say, the opinion is "I think it is just hunky-dory for me to kill my baby".

Now let's say one of those people is an enemy known to do horrible things and hold downright immoral positions on every possible position where morality is concerned.

Now, let's say the second person is your son or your wife would be even better.

In your honest opinion, who would you be more angry with?

In your honest opinion, who would you be the most ashamed of?

Now do I really have to draw you a picture from here?

Now, do you consider yourself a Christian?

What did Christ say to those who continually sin?

Didn't he say to separate yourself from them?

Wasn't one of the ten commandments "Thou shalt not kill?"

So, we have somebody of our "family" who has decided that legalized murder is just fine, in fact, she is in support of forcing you and I, who would never support this evil, barbaric, shamefull process under any circumstances, to support this by force or face jail time. Because if you boil away the fat, if you don't pay your taxes, even for matters of conscience you go to jail.

Meg Whitman is on public record supporting tax-payer funded abortion.

Now tell me, how do you support her after knowing this?

Oh, and don't pull the GOP-elitist crap that ncalburt tried earlier, just because I'm not voting for Whitman, doesn't mean I'm voting for Brown, not a chance.

I'll be voting for Nightingale(sp?), since she actually represents me on important issues like Abortion and Illegal Immigration.

Fourth she supports Tax-payer funded Abortion

Fifth she is just like her mentor, Myth Romney, she’ll say anything you want her to say if you’ll just vote for her.

On the other hand, a lot of pro-lifers held their noses and sent money to Scott Brown in Mass., who was also pro-choice (I didn’t — I was glad he won the election, but I could not send money to a pro-abortion candidate).

That is your expression of support for Meg Whitman, not strong, but we can see it for what it is, support.

There’s a reason I don’t live in California, and I’m thankful I don’t have to make the choice conservatives in that state have to make.

It’s been a long time since I had to vote for a candidate that wasn’t at least marginally pro-life. Most of the people I get to vote for are staunch pro-lifers.

My current choice for congress is being attacked by the incumbent because he opposes abortion for all cases except the life of the mother. No rape/incest/health exceptions here.

I will be voting for Meg Whitman on Tuesday and AGAINST JERRY BROWN by doing so. Sorry - to those of you who don’t or won’t understand the alternative - JERRY BROWN is much worse.

I lived through the first Brown admin and truly dread having to live through his cr@p again.

yes, it will be time to follow all of those folks and businesses and move the hell out of california if Brown wins....that will doom the state to further fiscal rape by the greedy government workers.

I am no political operative, but even I could have run a better campaign.

What I will always want to know is, why would she WANT this job so badly??

Every hour of every day, one of her commercials is on the radio, and even though now they are trying everything, each ad ends with the little blurb in her voice saying that she approves of the message. She cannot, cannot, cannot get that ultra-arrogant sound out of her voice.

And so if this is an available procedure, I think it needs to be available for all women.

HOLY CRAP!!!

I already hated Meg, but I'd never heard this one!!!

Do you realize what a moron she is? After all, she is talking about a medical procedure that some people pay for. Well, what about tummy tucks?? Some women can pay for THEM after having kids. Shouldn't EVERY WOMAN get one, regardless of whether or not they can pay?? What about cars? Why should poor women have worse cars?? Give each one an Escalade!

And does she not know how it works, with government funded abortions?? A woman goes to Planned Parenthood. She gives them phony info. They do not care. They tell her how to fill out the forms saying she has no money, and presto, the government will collect taxpayer dollars to kill her baby with. Even RICH women can get funded abortions.

Before many women know they are pregnant, their baby's heart is already beating. Just because a woman "thinks long and hard about it" before they kill their baby does not make it right. Meg kept her babies and look how crappy they turned out. Maybe she wishes she had taken the coward's way out.

Only fear of Jerry Loser Moonbeam Brown can force my hand to put an ink dot by the despicable Meg's name Tuesday.
