He just lost the endorsement of the largest newspaper in his area, The Duluth News-Tribune, for the first time in 30 years. Citing the lack of financial restraint by the incumbent, The Duluth News Tribune emphasized Oberstars rubber-stamp of Obamas policies on cap and trade, health care reform, continuation of the war in Afghanistan, and the resulting increase of unemployment.

Actually it’s hugh and series. Duluth is the most far left union controlled place in the state. Maybe there is hope for them yet.

This is the guy that got JUST ONE $500 private donation from his district in Q3, but still raised $2.5 million, right?

Not sure about the $2.5 million total, but in June - Sept Oberstar got three contribtions for inside his distict. He got $500 from the Democrat mayor of a town in his district and two contributions from associations, a PAC in Duluth and a Chippewa Indian tribe. Everything else during that quarter was from outside the district.
