Olivia Wilde has seen the future, and if you don't vote, it's "terrifying."
The stunning "House" star gets political in a new video for MoveOn.org called "Back From the Future," aimed at increasing voter turnout by showing what will happen if Democrats don't hit the polls.
It starts with a mock newscast to show just how bad things have gotten in the future.
"Pamela Anderson announced today that she and MTV 'Jersey Shore' star The Situation will be getting married in early November," a news anchor reports. "We'll be devoting all our resources to this story, even taking reporters off of congressional races to bring you by minute by minute breaking news."
The faux news report is interrupted by a frenzied Olivia Wilde, broadcasting from a post-apocalyptic year 2057, who introduces herself as "Olivia Kickin' Chipotle Glazed Time Warner."
That's because in this nightmare future, everyone has to go by brand names.
"You're about to make a huge mistake," she says. "One that changes our country forever."
Warning that she, from the future, knows "you" didn't vote in the upcoming 2010 elections, Wilde says "that's when it all went wrong."
So what do we have to fear?
According to the video, Republicans take over Congress, merge with corporations and create a monster entity called RepubliCorp.
In the future, Social Security is replaced by a "daily motivational email from John Boehner" and a literal fat cat -- an obese tabby -- is in charge of financial regulation.
Not to mention "the two most terrifying words in the English language: President Palin."

That’s hilarious.
Some people have been in Hollyweird a little too long.... RepubliCorp? LOL
Seems her brains is as big as her boobs.....if you can call em that. Look more like tic tacs.
you and me both toll man
Too little too late!
Paying attention to trained and paid liars (what else do you call actors?) is a losing proposition. They are graded and paid based on how convincingly they can speak words that someone else has written. This makes them worth paying attention to ... WHY?
I seem to recall they did something like this just before the 2008 presidential elections. There was a series of videos put up on a Dem website and YouTube called “2050”...or something like that.
In it was a series of “nightmare scenarios”, enhanced by CG special effects, where the US is portrayed as a wrecked, half destroyed, pollution-damaged shell of its former self.
In one section, NYC was devastated by what may have been a nuke, with the view of a huge crater engulfing most of mid-town Manhattan. Why? Because of our war-mongering policies...started back in 2008 when we elected a Republican as President.
In another, health care was doled out ONLY if you could pay, with only the very rich getting needed medical care. Why? Republicans and the evil pharmaceutical/healthcare providers got together to get richer and richer until only the rich could afford healthcare.
In yet another, the environment has gone straight into the toilet, with badly polluted air, dirty landscapes, and less and less clean water available for anyone. Why? The evil Republicans threw out most of the environmental laws, which allowed big corporations to pollute to their hearts content while they made tons of money. The actor in this one actually mutters to himself “I wish we’d elected Obama when we had the chance...”
Finally, there were interviews with a few people who said elections were held, but the only candidates were who the government SAID you could vote for. It was basically a dictatorship, although they never said so outright. And who, pray tell, was in charge? Yep...Republicans. Evil, nasty, foul, freedom-destroying Republicans.
So, Miss Wilde...can the bullcrap, lady. We’ve seen it before, and just like what you’re saying now, 2 years later....IT’S A LIE.
The Rand Paul stalker who’s attack video went viral was also an employee of MoveOn’s “RepubliCorp”.
Rent-a-mob astroturf.
I don’t know how much she gets paid, but she’s damn sure not getting it for thinking.
To my mind the most famous of these 'premature' actors were McLean Stevenson (Col. Henry Blake) and Wayne Rodgers ('Trapper John' McIntyre) both of whom left M*A*S*H after it's 3rd year and when it was just getting going well.
M*A*S*H only went on another 7 years and earned the cast who stayed considerable amounts in salary and residuals as well as many awards. McLean did end up realizing how well he had killed his golden goose but Wayne has gone on to individual glory as an investor and money manager.
The series was called "The Year 2048". Believe it or not, it's still up. Want a laugh? Go and check it out.
Wayne Rodgers doesn’t really count. He was successful in business before his acting foray, and has been successful after, as you point out.
I’d completely forgotten about Stevenson. Dying relatively early can encourage that.
In my memory, Stevenson was the only person on the Tonight Show to be able to drag out a joke across two nights.
I could ask you if you really know "fer shure" but I won't go there...
Maybe the Conservatives need to do a commercial showing what the future will be with a second term for Obama or a Democrat majority for 10 years. The people’s Republic of Amerika with State Capitalism and total control. The banning of the Republican Hate Party, The total amnesty of all foreigners in America. Limted food consumption. All American wealth to go to Africa and South America. Control of the UN, American Flags banned, All Crosses banned, churches taxed. All rich reduced to 99% taxes. Army navy unionized. Students Unionized. Big Macs banned.
