Let me get this straight:

Meg Whitman, a private citizen, hired a woman, vetted through an agency, who represented herself as a legal immigrant. Meg Whitman fired her when the IRS uncovered her perjury/illegal status and was bullied by the MSM even after she fully explained the circumstances.

Harry Reid, a US Senator with access to government secrets, hired a woman, paid with tax-payer funds, who broke the law, committed fraud, perhaps enabled a terrorist to enter and stay in the US illegally. Harry Reid has not been hounded by the MSM for an explanation, nor has he offered one.
