The thrill is gone! President Obama ratchets up efforts to draw teen voters

For months now President Obama has been out on the campaign trail attempting to rally support prior to November’s mid-term elections. Democratic candidates are avoiding Obama as if he has the plague. Bill White refused to campaign with him in Texas, Roy Barnes, Jim Marshall, John Barrow, John Lewis, and Hank Johnson refused appearances in Georgia, and the stories go on and on.

Across the country, Democrat candidates are not running on the merits of the legislation the passed. In fact they are doing their best to avoid discussing healthcare, the stimulus, and Wall Street reform. According to Joe Biden, who always seems to have his foot in his mouth, it is too difficult to explain the legislation to the people and that’s why they are not campaigning on their successes. That’s right Joe, we’re all to stupid to understand, thank God we have people as smart as you in Washington (tongue planted firmly in cheek).

To further exasperate things, the president has been heckled by members of his own party at several of his recent campaign appearances. Over the weekend Obama visibly lost his cool when AIDS protestors kept interrupting his speech in Massachusetts. After regaining his composure, the president said that we have increased AIDS funding and if they win, they will cut AIDS funding. I guess the president forgot that President Bush tripled AIDS funding while he was in office but why should he stop lying now, it has been working so well for him.

The teen vote won’t amount to a drop in the bucket. He’s having to go after them because they’re too naive and immature to realize what a walking distaster he is.

Maybe the kids got wind of that national service bill that Obama’s administration passed when he first got into office. Maybe they don’t like the fact that the rest of their time will be spent in school for a longer period of time.

Does this mean that there’ll be a basket of free condoms at every polling place in November? That's what usually happens when there are ‘teens’ around, right?

More seriously, there are tens of thousands of hits that come to FreeRepublic from full article searches off of Google, Bing, etc. By self excerpting, you're costing yourself exposure for absolutely no good reason. Present good articles, and people will visit your site to read more. Self excerpt, and you slice off a major component of this website who abjectly refuse to go to blogs or websites when the author self-excepts.

Obama’s just learning that his myspace friends don’t listen to him anymore because they are now on facebook dude and the bands that were hot in 2008 are lame now and the candidates who had cool looking posters in 2008 are now stale.

I agree fully with kingu about the self-excerpting. I take great pains to avoid going to any blogs or websites where the author is not presenting his or her full article to FReepers.
