Add Boeing employees to the ObamaCare victims list, but just the nonunion ones

Deductibles, the share of medical costs that employees pay annually before their plan kicks in, will go up to $300 for individuals, an increase of $100. For families, the new deductible will be $900, an increase of $300.

In addition, Boeing is instituting a copayment of 10 percent after the deductible has been met. The copayment will rise to 20 percent in 2012.

But the most telling portion of the article is this snippet:

In a letter mailed to employees late last week, the company cited the overhaul as part of the reason it is asking some 90,000 nonunion workers to pay significantly more for their health plan next year. A copy of the letter was obtained Monday by The Associated Press.

They can’t do anyhting about the Union plans without renegotiating the contracts which the Unions must agree to (No chance of that). Should be a big item on the table when the current contracts expire. You may see some strikes and shutdowns when this happens.

If it does, fire them.

Forgot to mention that something like this could influence the pending contract of the new Air Force Refueling Tanker competition between unionized Boeing and Non Union EADS which will build the plane in Alabama.

The union members at Boeing have a written contract, the non union ones do not. That’s why Boeing can change the rules in mid stream for their non union members.

In every other country, it is the unions that start the violence in the streets once the host country is so broke it has to interrupt the gravy train through “austerity measures”.

You can add Microsoft too. Last week we were told that our insurance premiums are going up and for the first time, employees will have to pay for part of their premiums out- of-pocket. Of course, being the PC company we are, no mention of Obamacare as the reason. But we all know exactly what’s causing this.

This travesty will eventually roll through all insurance plans including the union ones once their contracts renew. But the medical care problems will hit all very soon regardless of insurance.
