Why I’m not donating to the Chamber of Commerce
Author's Blog ^ | 10/15/2010 | Michelle Malkin

My Fox News colleague Glenn Beck yesterday urged his radio listeners to participate in the “largest fundraiser for the Chamber.” Several readers wanted me to join in.

Sorry, but I can’t think of a more perfect illustration of that old saying that “the enemy of your enemy is not always your friend.” If you have followed this blog over the years, you know I have opposed illegal alien amnesty in all forms, opposed the bipartisan TARP bailout from day one, opposed the bipartisan auto bailout from day one, and opposed the Obama stimulus from day one.

The U.S. Chamber of Commerce is one of the staunchest promoters of amnesty and joined with the AFL-CIO/ACLU to oppose immigration enforcement measures. They oppose E-verify and sued Arizona over its employer sanctions law.

The Chamber supported TARP, the auto bailout, and the stimulus. The Chamber is supporting a pro-Obamacare, pro-TARP, pro-card check, pro-stimulus, pro-amnesty Democrat in Arizona over his free-market GOP challenger.

Both the NRA and COC have endorsed the democrat in Maryland’s 1st district. The republican,Andy Harris, has an A rating with the NRA and had previously defeated the incumbent rino that represented this district. He is conservative, pro-life, slightly ahead in the polls and... is not being supported by two groups that I used to respect.

Agreed. The Chamber has gone to the Darkside on many issues.

Beck is too given to emotion and knee jerk reactions. Give him a week or two, and he’ll come around.

Veterens are supporting Reid I hear. NRA is too?

Well, wasn’t going to donate money to them anyway, but for good measure it makes me doubly happy that I never have given to them.

In SC, the Chamber endorsed a Democratic Trial Lawyer over Nikki Haley.

You all are correct in identifying the misdeeds of the COC in politics. It is one of the reasons why the post Reagan conservative movement has made less headway in the political arena than we would have liked...and why the America of today is poorer than the America of yesterday.

Mark Levin said the same thing - don’t donate to the Chamber of Commerce.

The NRA didn't endorse in the NV senate race, they knew how many members they would lose if they did endorse Reid. The VFW PAC endorsed Reid. Supposedly the PAC is autonomous and many VFW members have voiced their displeasure. Look for the PAC to be disbanded.

They were losing members even while they were even "thinking" of endorsing Reid.  Even while the Tea Party Express rolled into Searchlight, NV back in March of this year, the NRA's Wayne Lapierre was praising Reid.

I thought the endorsed him. Well, the fact that they haven’t endorsed her, is just as bad.

I think it would be more correct to say that their political action committees are supporting them rather than their members.

AmCham and La Raza and other Mexican fascist groups are aligned to pass amnesty for illegals.

I love capitalism, but I choose my country over capitalism in alliance with foreign criminals and traitors.
