Cat fight: Palin continues to poke Michelle Obama (Poor Moochelle!)

EUGENE, Oregon – People in this mostly liberal community are looking forward to a possible visit by First Lady Michelle Obama when the president visits Oregon on Oct. 20 to stump for Democratic governor candidate John Kitzhaber. Michelle Obama’s only brother, Craig Robinson, works in nearby Corvallis as the Oregon State University basketball coach.

Palin uses “fear” and trash talk to hit at Obama’s wife

Even though Michelle Obama is not running for office, she is a clear target for big game hunter, and Republican spokeswoman Sarah Palin. In fact, Palin has been riding Mrs. Obama since the 2008 campaign after Mrs. Obama questioned if Palin had the right stuff to be president.

Palin has continued what the media and insiders call a “cat fight,” ever since.

During difficult times for President Obama last year at the recession’s height, Michelle Obama defended her husband’s call for change and hope at a time when America was on the ropes. In turn, Palin told Tea Party conventioneers in Nashville, Tenn., that she’s asking Obama fans, “How is that hope-y, change-y stuff working out for you?”

However, this ongoing “cat fight” between Sarah Palin and Michelle Obama is “getting tiresome,” says Eugene local Kay Heinge.

“Did Palin every think of respect for our nation’s First Lady,” says Heinge. “It’s common and unworthy for anyone in the public spotlight or, in this case, as a representative of the Republican Party and a candidate for president to continue with this slam on Mrs. Obama about her lack of patriotism.”

Heinge also noted that “there’s a clear distinction between a woman who quit her job as the Alaska governor and the current U.S. First Lady who’s been compared to Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis. Mrs. Obama reminds me of Mrs. Kennedy because of her stylish elegance and all that she’s brought to the White House in terms of class, respect and compassion for the poor and needy.”

At the same time, there’s an uproar in Republican and Tea Party circles that Palin may be hurting her chances for a presidential bid because these attacks on the First Lady are viewed as “crazy talk by a crazy lady,” say political science experts who are recording these events for the nation’s political history.

At issue, is Palin’s latest jab at the First Lady for something that experts say she’s has taken out of context from a statement made by Mrs. Obama in 2008.

“Palin is milking America’s fear, and a view that under the current Obama Administration that we should just sit there and worry. There’s even signs posted in Republican offices around time that remind us to worry,” says Eugene history student Jay Naslund.

“What we have here is Palin waving the American flag in response to some mixed-up state that she said Michelle Obama made about being proud to be an American for the first time in her adult life. What? I think even the Republicans who heard Palin attack the Michelle Obama yesterday are upset. She crossed the line,” Naslund said.

Hate politics thrive at a time of recession

At the same time Palin spends so much time dishing the First Lady, others are not talking of being politically correct at a time of recession when concern for the poor in Eugene is centered on “helping one’s neighbor.”

Thus, there seems to be more rich man and poor man comparisons in Eugene these days.

“Youth and many Americans today can’t be bothered if their neighbor is ill or wanting for food or shelter,” says Eugene social worker Fay Houghton who serves meals-on-wheels to needy seniors as a “hobby” in her spare time.

“It’s a self-absorbed American society we’re living in where people have become almost immune to the struggles of their fellow man. To be fair, they’re so burned out on the horrors of life these days that they retreat into the world of twitter or Face Book or other distractions from real life,” adds Houghton.

In fact, the popular magazine for wealthy Americans, the “Economist,” notes that “the rich, the poor and the growing gap between them” is growing, with the “rich as the big gainers.”

The Economist also noted that Sarah Palin “will probably will be the next president” if results from the next elections enthrone more Republicans in seats of political power in this country.

When did Governor Palin announce her candidacy? I was down at the laundy room, did I miss something?

Last time I checked, the Economist was a British Magazine. From the Economist's laptops to G-d's ear!

Which office is Sarah Palin running for in 2010?

“Even though Michelle Obama is not running for office”

No but she is out on the campaign trail so she is fair game.

Better question is what did Palin ever say against Michelle? There is no quote anywhere in this article stating that is the case

When was Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis governor of Alaska? Wasn't she married to one of the richest men in the world? Are we supposed to hate rich people or not?

Now she’s campaigning in polling places. She’s as corrupt as can be. So she needs to quit whinning.

I’ve seen a lot of Palin speeches and I don’t remember her mentioning the first lady. No quotes in article. Total BS.

Somehow the “How is that hope-y, change-y stuff working out for you?” remark is supposed to be a slight.

I was my understanding that Palin was making fun of the "hopey-changy" thing to barack obama, now this clown, Palin-basher is transferring it to mooshelle trying to invoke some sympathy for the "poor, innocent" first lady and making Palin look like a hate monger.

Someone should tell "masko" that lies only work when no one else knows the real truth...he's too late.

Sorry there is no “catfight”. This left wing nut writer has to make stuff up to bring Sarah down to Obama’s level.

They could help get out of the state revenue crisis by passing the “Wide A$$ Tax” before Moosechelle visits. It is a heaalth initiative after all!
