O'Donnell to Christ Coons: "If you're saying what I said on a comedy show is relevant to this election, then absolutely, you writing an article saying you learned your beliefs from articulate intelligent Marxist professor and that what's made you become a Democrat, that should send chills up the spine of every Delaware voter" (Video)

What baggage? That she and her friends pulled out a Ouiji board on a Friday night in high school? That she actually took years to pay off education loans? That she has had trouble with a mortgage when millions of others also have? Some have incredible standards that demand perfection, because any tiny mistake in life gets magnified and blown out of proportion. Then, some on our side love to jump on those issues and declare a candidate unelectable. She did well in this debate and should have a shot in a year where long shots seem to pull out unpredicted wins. No one ever said she would win easily, or even have a 50% chance, but our own side is doing her in, not the left.

If you're not a Delaware voter at this point you should keep your pie hole shut. O'Donnell would be light years ahead of Coons in the Senate.

The Primaries are over. Now is the time to support the Republican candidates. Anyone suggesting anything else needs to find another forum.

Period.

“I watched the whole thing and I thought she kicked his butt. She was sharp and zinged him often. He couldn’t rebut much of what she said. He kept saying he didn’t have enough time to address all that she brought up.”

Yeah, Coons kept saying he didn’t have enough time to rebut what O’Donnell brought up but then when he did talk it was like listening to Charlie Brown’s teacher. He just sounded too rehearsed. Christine hit him hard on many levels, including taxes and health care and came over as very intelligent, very well informed and offered solutions to the problems. Christine is a citizen politician. Coons is a career politician. We need more Christine O’Donnells in Washington and less and less of the Chris Coons’s. If I were in Delaware I would be proud to vote for this insightful and enlightened young conservative woman. I think O’Donnell scored a few points with the Delaware voters tonight. Look for the attacks on her to be more cut throat (from MSNBC I’m sure) as this race tightens over the next week or two.

I grudgingly pulled for Castle for tactical purposes, but I support Christine 100% now.

My problem with Christine is not with any of her “baggage”, but her inability to put the screws to this loser. He put himself out there like a pinata, and she took off a couple of legs. For a true conservative like her to win in a place like DE, you really need someone to dismantle the liberal argument and embarrass this nitwit for all the voters to see. Think about it like this: just imagine if you substituted her with a Buchannan, Gingrich or Krauthammer to debate this fool. He would had to take a break to change his underwear.

Look, we’ve all seen the light. We know Constitution and liberty are the key ingredients for vibrant society, but for undecided people in a place like DE, you need to eviscerate your opponent’s argument. I think she did a decent job but probably not enough to put her over the top. I hope I’m wrong.

And, for the record, I am at least thankful I won’t have to see Castle on meet the press with David Gregory asking why he can’t get Republicans to come along with him on taxing air.

Is Christine O'Donnell better than Coons and Castle? Yes.

Is she also dumber than a sack of hammers? Yes.

Is she going to beat Coons? Unfortunately, no.

Period.

Expressing a reasonable and rational conservative perspective does not render one a “coward.” In fact, if you are unable to tolerate or withstand any constructive input, I would suggest that you are the “coward.”

Free Republic is not a “COD is Almighty God” forum. We are better than leftist sites that tolerate zero dissent.

“Is she also dumber than a sack of hammers? Yes.”

I thought O’Donnell came across in tonight’s debate quite intelligent and was well informed of the issues. What were you watching tonight? Keith Olbermann? Either you are way smarter than O’Donnell and all of us Freepers, or you watch MSNBC all day to get your news or you are a Democratic plant and hack. Which one is it?

We don’t need any more smooth-talking, polished, professional politician that are good at debating. The very simple fact is that a comatose chimpanzee would be a far better senator than Chris Coons at his very best. Unless Americans wake up to the fact that the “ruling class” professionals like Coons, McCain, Specter, Reid and all the rest of the well dressed, well spoken, traitorous scum have gotten us into this very nearly hopeless mess, we are doomed.

At the beginning she confused Afghanistan and Iraq

Really? Wasn't she just saying a few days ago how neato it would be to serve on the Foreign Relations Committee?

It doesn't take a political consultant to realize that this lady is an idiot.

She may be our idiot, and she may be better than their idiot. But she's still an idiot, and those who claim otherwise are only displaying that they share that attribute with her.

Compared to Coons, yes she did come across as the stronger intellect.

But that's like calling Nancy Pelosi the prettiest lady in the room when the other choices are Hillary and Janet Reno.
