I am disgusted that the GOP thought a liberal who was one of only eight GOP congressmen to vote for cap and trade was the right candidate for the Illinois seat, but unfortunately he is the GOP candidate. If the GOP primary voters couldn’t find and support and nominate a better candidate than Kirk when it mattered (in the primary) then it is simply foolish to try to gin up support for an independent who is polling at 5%.

Kirk - as liberal as he is - would still be better than Alexi. He would give the GOP one more seat even if his vote is not a reliable vote. And even if he voted with the GOP and against the Obama agenda just 10% of the time that would still be better than the democrat Alexi who will vote WITH Obama 100% of the time.

The support for both of the two major party candidates is soft. A majority of people still don’t like either of them.
Kirk is a candidate that has been forced on Illinois by the Republican establishment. He did not debate once, they held the primary ridiculously in Feb. He will not allow open discussion of the issues. It is time to support a third party and with enough money Kirk and Alexi could be defeated.

Also if Kirk gets in he will never be gotten out. He is to the left of Mike Castle. On election day he will be a piece of crap on the top of the Tea Party cake. A mistake and error and a constant problem for us. Alexi on the otherhand if he wins will be as corrupt as he always was and because of that will be vulnerable. I don’t want either of them to win and I believe Mike Labno can win if we throw our support behind him and stop running back to the establishment skirts and false arguments about winning.

I’ve never heard a person say “Wow that car over there has a great hood ornament but looks like a piece of crap I think I’m going to buy it”. I’d support Kirk if he wasn’t a die-hard on abortion, didn’t support thought crimes, and wasn’t 100% anti-gun even to the point of receiving endorsements over the Democrat.

No win or lose Mike Labno is the only candidate on the Ballot for US Senate in Illinois that a conservative with any conscience could vote for. We don’t need Kirk. Let’s show some balls and kick him to the curb now rather than having to watch him betray us later as he has consistently in the past.

Patrick Hughes was Kirk’s GOP opponent in the primary who ran a very bad campaign and was limited in money. The problem was that in 2008, when Obama was running for President, the Dem’s in IL moved the primaries up to Feb 2.

In 2010, Scott Browns winning election was Jan. 19. There was Brown election fatigue & euphoria coupled with poor in-state Tea Party coordination as Hughes battled 3 other conservatives in the race against Kirk.

Conservatives, Tea Partiers, and 912 organizations needed to make the hard decision to coalesce around a conservative candidate to mount any type of challenge to the liberal Kirk. Hughes had most notoriety, publicity and self-funded money. The other Conservative Republican Senate candidates polled less than 1% with no finances and no organizations. As we all know, when there are numerous conservative candidates splitting the conservative vote, the more liberal candidate will win in a state like IL. That is what happened. No one dropped out to endorse the leader Hughes. Tea Partier’s split their endorsements throughout the state.

No national spotlight. No planning. No coordination. Scott Brown fatigue. Limited Money. All hampered Hughes efforts. Hughes ended up with 19% of the vote. Kirk had just short of $5M on hand and was backed by the RNSC, RNC and the support of many of the state party RINO officials. Everyone except conservative critics. Once again showing the establishment DC power brokers pushing a RINO candidate like Kirk to win.
