What does Illinois Tea Party candidate Michael Labno have to do to get some attention around here? Does he have to be more like Christine ODonnell: should he make some bizarre comment about meatballs, get caught buying vibrators and boil some frogs?
Or does he have to be more like Illinois Republican candidate Mark Kirk: shall he create an imaginary life story where he single-handedly killed Osama bin Laden with his .50 caliber sniper rifle, was awarded a medal of honor and then devoted his life to reading fairytales to nursery school students?
On October 5, 2010, Rasmussen Reports announced that a statewide telephone survey of Likely Voters shows Kirk picking up 45% of the vote, while Giannoulias earns 41% support. Four percent (4%) back Green Party candidate LeAlan Jones. Another five percent (5%) prefer some other candidate in the race, and six percent (6%) are undecided.
Rasmussen cannot justify its failure to name the some other candidate who has 1% more support than Jones. Disappointing. Rasmussen had a duty to name Labno in the interest of fairness to all parties, to ensure more accurate reporting by the media, and because voters rely heavily on polling numbers to help them make a decision.
Labno shouldnt be ignored for his lack of wack.
Warning to Republicans (or those who are considering voting Republican): If you vote for Mark Kirk, you will be voting for a liberal. So, if you are going to vote for a liberal, then make it easier on yourself and simply vote for Alexi Giannoulias, since hes the real Democrat.
Wait, before you get all worked-up and accuse me, an Illinois Democrat, of trying to persuade the right to lean left, please continue reading because my point has zilch to do with Giannoulias I simply want to make sure that the person you vote for accurately and properly represents you.
Michael Labno may be your guy, instead of Mark Kirk. Why?
Kirk is a Republican. Or is he? Kirk voted to allow the government to confiscate your legally owned firearm in the event of a national emergency. He is pro-choice, saved millions in funding for Planned Parenthood and was just one of 17 Republicans to vote to fund abortions for female inmates. Kirk is for cap and trade and voted for TARP not once, but twice.
Labno is a self-proclaimed recovering Republican; three years sober, officially. He wonders why we still havent found Osama bin Laden and is disappointed with the Republicans support of the bailouts. He wants small businesses and community banks to thrive again. He is pro-life and pro-guns. Labno owns his positions and he hasnt manufactured his qualifications or made up outlandish stories to gain support.
Fred Newbrough, one of Labnos Facebook friends, wrote, We are tired of the same old games by the GOP Kirk is the most horrible candidate imaginable for the Senate. He isnt even reliably fiscally conservative. The good thing is that you, Mike, are in the race. Illinois has a real choice: a Tea Party choice, a conservative choice, a libertarian choice.
Illinois voters, before you allow a senator to drive you to Washington, make sure some other candidate isnt hidden in a blind-spot; otherwise, he may crash before you even get to your final destination.
Elect someone who may betray you by voting liberal or a guaranteed liberal vote. Hmmmmmmm........that's a tough one.
I look at it this way, Kirk has a 54% rating from the American Conservative Union. That means well be able to count on Kirks vote more than 50% of the time in the Senate, possibly quite a bit more since hes representing the entire state in the Senate not just a liberal-leaning suburban Chicago district. Better to take half a plate of what you want and half a plate of what you dont rather than a full plate of steaming cow pies youd get from Kirks Democratic opponent. Wed never have him with us on anything. And Kirks seat is one more seat towards having the majority and the committee chairs which is going to be so important both in terms of what gets done in the Senate and symbolically is dismantling Obama for his 2012 run.
Kirk embellishing his record was just stupid. I think the public embarrassment he suffered from it was sufficient punishment. Why punish the country for what he did by enabling a Giannoulis win, which is what will come from voting for a 3rd party fantasy who will never win because it will split the Republican/conservative vote and thus giving the Dems their precious 51st vote which they’ll spin into being a huge electoral win (with the media’s help saying “The GOP fell short)?
The primary voters spoke. Let’s not blow this now when we’re so close. Better to go with someone we can count on more than half the time than someone who will work against the nation and its interests ALL the time.
If the choice is between someone who sometimes votes with conservatives and someone who never votes with conservatives, I'll go with sometimes.
If we had 2 conservative Senators in every conservative state and 2 squishy Republicans in most other states, we'd have what, 80 seats in the Senate?
Kirk has a 54% rating from the American Conservative Union. That means he’ll hardly vote liberal all of the time. Not a great rating by any means, but much better than Giannolis’s rating would be. Kirk did vote against key Obamacare agenda items like the failed stimulus and death care. Giannolis would have been a reliable vote for all of those and much more.
As a member of the House, Kirk has voted for Cap and Tax.
They are nothing but back stabbing commies in drag...they need to be expunged like a bowel movement accompanied with bad cramping.....PERIOD! They are WORSE then the ‘Rats because they SCREW us from the inside.
I’d vote for Kirk in Illinois. He’s much better than the alternative. And he could be the difference in who controls the Senate.

This punk is as big a nightmare as imaginable for us. A Trojan Horse from the SAME political outfit as Emperor Zero.
Huh? Where did I do either?
He represents the antithesis of what the Tea Party stands for.
Great, in 6 years we'll defeat him in the primary.
Exactly. If we wait for the perfect candidate in Illinois, we'll all be dead (and voting for the Dem).
I don’t buy into conspiracy nonsense. And like I said, anyone who believes Giannoulis will be indicted is fooling themselves. In fact the very claim contradicts the whole claim of this post about this “Combine” protecting their own. Obviously if such a thing existed, it could easily make sure Giannoulis is kept safe as a kitten. And Obama’s Justice Dept. won’t lay a finger on him. Again, name the last indicted Democratic Senator.
Now THAT'S funny ! You mean like how we beat him with the Combine-approved nobodies this year in that fixed farce of a primary ? BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA !!! He'll be a Democrat in 6 years after he's done screwing over the Conservative agenda and the GOP from within.
Sen. Patty Murray lifetime ACU rating: 2.74%.
Then we can beat him in the general election.
Where on earth do you get that analogy? According to the American Conservative Union, Patty Murray has a lifetime conservative rating of 2%, 0% for 2008. Kirk in his House record gets a 58% lifetime from the ACU (I incorrectly posted 54% in prior posts.) Not a stellar record to be sure, but far better than Patty Murray.
And Kirk had 58% lifetime from the ACU (I incorrectly posted 54% earlier). Not exactly the same person are they as another tried to claim? And watch out for that "Combine!" LOL.
I don’t particularly care what you buy into, what I wrote is the reality of the situation. You’re sitting here with a straight face shilling for a notorious DIABLO fraud saying how we “must” vote for him, repeating a meaningless ACU rating as evidence of his fidelity. Sir or madam, you are supporting a Judas Jeffords. Even if Alexi doesn’t go to prison, the taint of corruption will be on the Democrats and the WH, and not on us.
