The War Slut has no shame. On the bright side, I think her employment at ABC will be over by the start of the November sweeps. I think they're going to rebroadcast Rocky and Bullwinkle instead. Better political commentary at least...
I think Reza Aslan 1st started surfacing on tv here around 2004. He’s a Khatami supporter - in other words, not anti-regime, but pro regime-lite. The pro-regime lite crowd is anti Ahmadinejad, so they sound like a nice bunch on the surface, but in reality, they aren’t any better.
The 1st time I read one of Aslan’s editorials yrs ago, I knew he was a phoney. He still is.
Reza Aslan Quotes:
- I believe we are living in the time of the Islamic reformation. In fact, I think we are living in the twilight of that reformation......And it’s up to us as Muslims in the US to give voice to that for our brothers and sisters who don’t have the voice or the same ability to speak out as we do.”[15]
- Iraq should look to Israel for a model that combines democracy and religious belief.[17]
- Despite the apartheid state that has resulted from over half a century of bloody territorial conflicts with its neighboring Palestinian territories, few would deny that the state of Israel is a democracy. At the same time, Israel is a country founded upon an exclusivist Jewish moral framework, which offers all the worlds Jews regardless of their nationality immediate citizenship, providing them with a host of benefits and privileges over its non-Jewish citizens. It is a country in which the Orthodox rabbinical courts have jurisdiction over all matters relating to Judaism (including who is a Jew); where religious schools (yeshivas) are subsidized by the state, and marriages are religious, rather than civil affairs (meaning no official will marry a Jew to a non-Jew); and the government is dominated by religious parties such as the ultra-Orthodox Shas, the Yahadut Hatorah, and of course the ruling Likud.[17]

People such as Reza Aslan are selling what many muslims refer to as “Western or Westernized Islam”. His objective is to position Islam in attractive & acceptable terms in the West, so that the West is more receptive to the ideology. He is deceptive, clever and dangerous.
