Gloria Allred Should Be Disbarred
Flopping Aces ^ | 10-02-10 | Nancy Morgan

Media hound Gloria Allred should be disbarred.

Representing an illegal immigrant who is a former housekeeper of Meg Whitman, who just happens to be running for Governor of California, Ms. Allred has taken to the airwaves in a blatant, if not illegal attempt to tar Meg Whitman with the label of liar just ahead of the California gubernatorial election.

Ms. Allred appeared with her client Nicky Diaz Santillan on national television yesterday to show what a big meanie Meg Whitman is. With tears dripping down her cheeks and a quavering voice, Santillan detailed how (Republican) Meg Whitman abused her. She was actually forced to drive a car and allegedly Whitman refused to pay her overtime.

Allred actually referred to her client as a modern day Rosa Parks - willing to risk deportation in order to expose the various injustices perpetrated upon her. "Americans appreciate the huge risks she is taking" Allred said. Huh?

Gloria Allred has informed the nation that her client has entered this country illegally and has used a stolen social security number in order to obtain employment. In essence, Gloria Allred has exposed her client to deportation and/or jail time. Other illegal immigrants who have gone public for various reasons have eventually ended up deported.

No amount of spin can gloss over the legal jeopardy Allred has exposed her client to. And no amount of ginned up indignation can obscure the fact that Allred has sacrificed her client for her own agenda.

Allred has manufactured a reputation of being a 'woman's advocate.' She envisions herself as a protector of all women against the patriarchal system of old white men. Her reputation is a direct result of accepting only those cases which will guarantee her publicity. No matter how frivolous. I know this from personal knowledge, having done business with Allred's firm.

God created stupid people like Gloria Allred as an example to the rest of us. Blessed be the Name of The Lord.

>>”There you go, prosecute the felonies then deport her”<<

Better yet, prosecute and then jail her for 20 years. That’s what they’d doto you and me. Send a signal to the millions of other ILLEGAL ALIENS.

Allred doesn’t seem to care if all of these media people make a fool out of her. She is getting 10 million dollars worth of free advertising for a few hours work.

"I want to know how poor little Nicky found Gloria?"

Allred admitted to Mark Levin that her bill was being paid by a 3rd party. On Levin’s show she refused to use the term ‘alien’..(she said ‘Nicky’ wasn’t from another planet!) and insisted on ‘undocumented worker’. Some lawyer...ALIEN is the legal term! She’s an open border proponent and likely tied to some of those tax funded groups attempting to sway the 'Latino' vote.

Of note is that Allred is ‘good friends’ with one Joe Ortiz. It's fair to assume she also has associations with other 'latino' leaders like him.

[snip] Joe was instrumental in getting Pina membership in the group ,which heretofore did not allow woman into the civic organization, with help from his good friend, activist attorney Gloria Allred.

Joe works (not sure if he still is, this article was a few years ago) for the Mexican Americal Legal Defense & Education Fund (MALDEF) as its Director of Development and Special Events ....He’s successful in raising thousands of dollars for the Latino advocacy organization. Still desiring to practice public relations on a full time basis, he finally forms Joe Ortiz Associates in June 1988 and begins acquiring many clients who were aware of his public relations expertise and his vast networking skills in the media/government/community affairs arena. He continues his “Prime Time With Joe Ortiz” show but moves it to KPZE-FM in Anaheim. That year, Joe is also chosen as one of the “100 Most Influential Hispanics in the US” by Hispanic Business Magazine for his broadcasting excellence and community affairs. Others chosen that year included talk show host Geraldo Rivera,..... Joe worked closely with good friend Cardinal Roger Mahoney throughout the years.

IRS had concerns about the maid’s SSAN, but the letter contained warnings that neither the letter nor the concerns it expressed could be used as grounds for firing the maid.

Now, this is America today. "The employee you hired may be illegal, according to our records, but you can't fire her. We are just letting you know she should not have been hired in the first place. Now that you've hired this illegal alien, you are stuck with her."

Everyone keeps saying that Whitman couldn’t fire her for being an illegal alien. But that is exactly what Meg claims she did. I don’t see anyone saying it’s going to cause her a problem.

[snip]”As required by law, once we learned she was an illegal worker, I immediately terminated Nicky’s employment,” Whitman said in a written statement.”It was one of the hardest things I’ve ever done. I considered Nicky a friend and a part of our extended family.”

Allred does not care. I just saw on an L.A. website someone asking if anyone could reach Allred because she wanted to hire her. Stupid people want stupid lawyers.

I used to be horrified and fascinated by the dark lines she draws around her lips. Now I am fascinated and horrified by the dark lines she draws in her eye creases. What are they supposed to be? Makeup is a window to the soul.

She couldn't be fired based solely on the contents of the mismatch letter from Social Security. That letter was not a statement of the maid's immigration status, it was only a notice of potential data error, and as such could not be used as justification.

However, Whitman did fire the maid based on her confession to Whitman of being here illegally and having used forged documents.

Different events led to the firing.

Everyone is ignoring the real story...once that letter was written..WHY WASN’T IF FOLLOWED UP ON? What happened after? Did Nikki return it with even more lies? if it wasn’t returned, WHY DIDN’T THE GOVERNMENT COME AND TAKE HER AWAY? That’s the story here. Meg Whitman did NOTHING WRONG. They hired her from a reputable agency. You ASSUME the agency has vetted the potential employee. THAT’S WHY YOU PAY AN AGENCY. Oy.

The social security letter didn’t question her legal status at all. It said there was a potential problem with her social security number.

Huge difference.

Identity theft of her ssn by someone else could also be a likely problem with a social security number. After all, so far as the Whitman’s knew, the lady was from a reputable firm, and her sister WAS a legal American citizen.

“Different events led to the firing.”

I realize that. So far, unproven events. And lots of haggling over what the law actually is. That’s the real story here....so many laws unenforced that they mean NOTHING.

Do you believe it actually took 9 years to realize this woman, described as ‘part of the family’, was in this country illegally? That’s just too big of a stretch, or Meg is the least observant person on the planet.

Everyone in this story stinks.

Good for Gloria; thanks to her hundreds of Hispanic household slaves will be freed from their $23/hr drudgery and escape back to their welcoming homelands.

I do, actually.

She was shown a drivers license, she was shown a social security card, she was shown an I-9, and she was placed by a reputable hiring agency. That's four data points.

Then, on the other side of the argument, is the letter that says the SSN was a mis-match, but that the letter itself is not evidence of immigration status and to use it as such can be criminal.

To counter the letter is the fact that Whitman continued to pay social security against the account number, and no repeated letters or returned payments were received (as far as we know).

I'd say that a reasonable person would conclude that it was a data error that was corrected, since it was only one letter with no follow-up versus a reputable hiring company and a person with all the necessary papers.

No... actually the letter said they couldn’t fire her just because of the letter inquiring about a mis-match of Social Security Numbers.

However, she was fired in 2009 after she told the Whitmans that she was illegal.
