When you vote, remember sneaky Democrats gave their federal union pals 4 weeks paid leave

By With an effective rate of unemployment above 16% the Democrat controlled Congress voted to give their federal union pals the option to take 12 weeks leave with 4 of them paid for by you.

The very fact that the “board” of the “federal corporation” would do this clearly makes the point that federal employees are generally useless and perform tasks so inconsequential that they can leave their desks for 12 weeks without even causing a ripple in the smooth but empty delivery of the “services” they provide to us.

The federal employees bring down an average salary of $79, 000 and are provided with another $40,000 in benefits. This is twice what the average employed citizen gets in pay ($50,000) and benefits ($10,000).

These benefits come almost immediately upon entry into federal civil service. The compensation package you pay for includes 10 federal holidays (can another day off for Ramadan be far off?) generous sick leave amounting to thirteen days a year which mounts up indefinitely if it goes unused.

At retirement unused sick leave is convertible to higher pension payments. And don’t forget the four weeks paid vacation after just four years of “service” they get. The Democrats need a paid standing army to protect their majority status.

Since Obama has taken over our government he has increased the number of federal unionized workers by 10%. Consider this: many Americans who can’t find work are facing personal disaster everyday. Yet when and if they do find something, say a part time job what little they make is taxed so Obama Nancy Pelosi and harry Reid can pay their

A Democrat State Committee woman was talking at the function hall we all hang around about how teachers can take off from work to work on a campaign and still get paid full salary. They stay at each others houses because hotel expenses are not reimbursed.

These workers should get their salaries cut, or at leat frozen, and no more COLAs for the forseeable future.

This is disgraceful.

...not to mention plenty of time off on election day so they can swamp the poles to vote early and often. Hey, it's the Chicago Way!

Trust me here: THESE clowns will be out in force on 11/2 and in 2012. If you care about this country, you and your conservative/libertarian pals had better be there as well.

Straight out of Thomas Jefferson— when the citizens decide that they can vote themselves an income (words to that effect) then the republic, and democracy is over. We have govt. unionized employees who are given time off to campaign for more govt, and more employees for their unions, and more money and taxpayer paid benefits. A fully govt. employed country is a socialist state, producing nothing, and is unable to be supported by the “taxes” paid from a govt tax paid job. States like NC, where the major employer is govt., know something about this “one party” nightmare. We have to fight this, and de-fund and shrink govt. We do not need these people, no matter what they tell us in selling their “essential” role in running our lives.

It should note that this bill DID NOT go into law and it applies to FMLA parental/maternity leave. This isn’t a random 12 week vacation.

The article is a bit misleading.

Sick leave earned while covered by the CSRS program was convertible into retirement credit. That earned under the FERS program is not.

No one has been hired under CSRS since 1986/87.

Best to keep up on these federal employment retirement programs and the tricky devils who benefit.

Regarding 10 holidays a year, that would include Christmas, New Years, President's Day, MLK Day, Memorial Day, 4th of July, Labor Day, Columbus Day, Veterans Day, and Thanksgiving.

Which holidays does the writer suggest be eliminated? Like complaining about the holidays without telling us which ones he doesn't like is not really kosher if you get my drift.

Moving inexorably toward a caste society.

So this story is saying that 150,000 people (claims 10 percent) were added to the federal government since Obama took over. I believe President Bush added some too with the Homeland Security Department. We had 1.5 million folks working for the federal government prior to Obama. So now there is 1.65 million?

http://www.bls.gov/oco/cg/cgs041.htm

Interesting table with numbers of Federal government workers. Actually there is 1.9 million with 1 million being military alone. These numbers are wrong though because they say that the Navy has 175,000 but actually we have 325,000.

I would get rid of those 4,000 working at the Smithsonian though. Why can’t we privatize the Smithsonian?????

We should strip nearly all federal employees benefits completely (except for the military and law enforcement) and cut their salaries by 50% to balance the budget. Then outlaw unions from spending dues on election ads, brake up the national unions and prosecute their leadership under rico statutes.
