The results of last weeks' Reaganite Republican GOP Frontrunners Poll are in...
Each reader was asked to chose the top five Republican candidates for the 2012 nomination, and our sample size of 1000+ votes provides a truly meaningful result...
Clearly, the field is pretty wide-open at this point- 'Cuda won it comfortably, but with a three-way tie for second and the rest of the votes spread around the field... even Blago got 4 votes, hope they were just joking, lol. And surprisingly, Pawlenty and Jindal didn't make much of a showing, either...
1 Sarah Palin 17%
2 Jim DeMint 9%
2 Chris Christie 9%
2 Mitt Romney 9%
5 John Bolton 6%
5 Haley Barbour 6%
7 Bobby Jindal 5%
7 Tim Pawlenty 5%
THANKS FReepers for your participation...
If you missed last weeks' point/counterpoint on the GOP frontrunners for 2012, catch that -here-
Who cares until after November 2nd!
I don’t care until we know who enters the race.
We have more pressing matters than wasting time and posting energy {including mine} on these silly polls.
THIS POST IS SELF REMOVED, IF YOU ARE READING THIS, I'VE FAILED AT THE REMOVAL PROCESS.
I ran the poll due to rampant propaganda from the Left and GOP old guard that Palin isn’t a viable candidate... which is hogwash.
That, and the fact that there was such a wide open field, It’s interesting to see who has any recognition out there... and some like Pawlenty are already running basically
And with 1000 votes somebody cared... although I fully agree that these numbers could blow around like a paper cup in the wind for the next year or so... it IS way, way too early- I know
Why is Tim Pawlenty on any of these lists?
I mean seriously
I am afraid of an oversaturation of conservatives, which will split the vote and allow someone like Romney to get through (we already know Huck will take the baptists and single-issue social contingents). The tea party needs to unite behind a single candidate or we will have a 2008 repeat.
Hear, Hear!!!
Concentrate people! Maintain your focus, your drive, and your fire.
The real battle will occur in the next few weeks.
Let's win it convincingly...then move on to the next battle. The war is a very long one. A single battle successfully won at a time, people. One battle at a time.
Amen. Plenty of time to select candidates for Pres later. We all have our preferences. It will play out in due time. Patience is a virtue...
In the mean time, we need to focus on the current elections, the current arguments, and the shaping the current/ongoing debate - moving the whole conversation to the right - isolating the Left further.
Qualifier for anyone seeking the Presidency in 2012:
Big-time spine, guts, cajones and a willignness to do battle with anyone or any group out to destroy our Constitution, anyone out to compromise our security, ruin our economy, or jeopardize our freedom and our future. Wimps need not apply.
We’re looking for a fearless Patton-style patriot or another patriot like Ronald Reagan.
True, but alas, I fear my children's children may yet be searching for such an individual.
Truly, Ronald Reagan was a "one of a kind" individual and they don't happen with anything approaching frequency.
Take a look at the current rino/conservative crop. Outside of the beliefs of Sarah Palin, one could take the very best characteristics of every one of them and put them into one idividual....and that individual still could not hold a candle to Ronald Reagan.
In and of themselves, the current rino/conservative crop defines the "great American wasteland".
The crop of dems...ok...they define, "the great communist, socialist, liberal, progressive wasteland."
Certainly not American.
Surely you exaggerate your despair.
Many here believe Palin is as good as Reagan. And others in the field and rising, like John Bolton. What about the wave of tea party candidates—take Allen West for example.
Based on the prospects out there, I think we could see even better than Reagan.
