>> I’m guessing they got sick of the shakedowns.

Can you blame ‘em?

Obama’s little swim in St Andrews bay was meant to send a message to the Coast Guard that the crisis was over. Put me out of a job.

Interesting thread. It wasn't much more than a couple month ago freepers were lining up to boil BP in its own oil. Interesting.

Not this FReeper. BP wasn’t in business to dump oil in the ocean.

BP can fire everyone and run...but they can not hide. They are going to be in court and in court and in court and in court....

I’d boil ‘em in oil only because they’re hypocritical left wing weenies who want it both ways. They want to play like they’re “green” while pumping and selling all the “black” they can get their hands on.

But I don’t harbor any ill will towards them just because they’re an oil company.

And, I can see how the Exxons and Chevrons could just as easily be put in the hot seat. That would be bad for all of us.

Just my 2c — YMMV

Mainly because of their cowardly performance before the rat congress and their willingness to get rolled by Ubama and his thugs. "How many zeroes do you want on the check, sir?" That was the biggest problem I had with BP. I thought, "Okay, screw them."

My personal observation of the clean up crews was that this was a big PR stunt and not required.

It was a sham. Glad the contracts are over.

Cleanup at Johnson Beach will be taken over by Eagle-SWS, the Panama City-based contractor currently in charge of oil cleanup at Pensacola Beach and Fort Pickens.

“BP can fire everyone and run...but they can not hide. They are going to be in court and in court and in court and in court....”

If that happens I wouldn’t be suprised if BP killed all US operations. “Want to screw with us, ok, here’s another 30,000 unemployed. You explain it to them why we left.”

I don’t want them back on US soil. They should be sued out of business. Leave BP; you screwed up enough now!

If I recall, they were getting lovey-dovey "Safety Award" certificates mere months before the blow out from the Obama Inspectors. You want to blame? Blame EVERYONE who screwed up.

Yup, before long those BP signs are going to read CP (China Petroleum)

That should make you happy.

I am sick and tired of the globalist corporate elitist attitudes of disrespect that has been adopted by a lot of Freepers now too. Threatening me with the China-coms in the Gulf is ignorant. We are a third world cesspool and we don’t have to tolerate neglegent polution, corporate communism/fascism or any of it.

Whoever pumps oil in the US needs leases. BP should never get a lease again. And if Republicans ever put the chi-coms down here, they would be running elections w/o the South.

I blame the corporation who is now caught cutting corners while drilling knowing they could cause a disaster on US soil. They hid what they were doing from the government. At the same time, our government officials were bought off by corporation vacation, parties and gifts. BP has the worst safety record of them all.

FYI...BP America is currently on the market and China National Petroleum Corporation and Sinopec are both the leading contenders of purchasing BP America. If you think BP is bad just wait until the Chinese take over. They already control the US economic policy. Wait until the control the EPA policy.

BP has been irresponsible but at the same time accidents do actually happen. The accident was a combination of BP mismanagement and US surveys of the Gulf. You know of course that BP was provided faulty surveys of the area that increased the probability of an accident.

Funny part is also if BP closes all US operations they'll be able to drill in the Gulf again. Stupid liberals never learn.
