Considering he left in the “endowed with inalienable rights” part, that begs a thinking person to wonder, who has endowed these rights to us?

Exactly.

I was discussing the use of ellipsis in rhetoric merely to explain that Obama did not “misquote” the Declaration. A misquote is when you misstate or alter the words. An ellipsis is simply a rhetorical device.

Now why he decided to use it ... that’s left up to the thinking man.
