Krauthammer: DeMint and Palin Need to Get O’Donnell Elected Since They Got Her Nominated – Video
Freedom's Lighthouse ^ | September 16, 2010 | Brian

Here is video of Charles Krauthammer on with Bill O’Reilly tonight, where he said he believes there is a “1 in 10″ chance Christine O’Donnell will win the November Election to the U.S. Senate in Delaware.

Krauthammer said it is “a huge mistake” to jeopardize the Delaware Senate seat by nominating Christine O’Donnell over Mike Castle. Krauthammer’s contention is that it’s all about control of the Senate – whether you would rather have the GOP setting the agenda, or Harry Reid / Chuck Schumer as Majority Leader.

Krauthammer challenged Jim DeMint and Sarah Palin – whom he said got her nominated – to go to Delaware and help her get elected in November.

“Now show me,” Krauthammer said, about DeMint and Palin. He also said he hopes he is wrong, because the GOP needs Delaware to take control.

And I respect and understand your opposite view, eggman.

Well, at least you join Rove, Krauthammer, and many others that think along your lines...

I not only disagree but along with many others take exception. It’s high time that the voters get their way instead of the entrenched politicians. I know that sounds like blasphemy, but it is what it is... This year, it is time for the voters to win - to hell with the politicians.

Yes, that means ignoring people like Newt, Kauthammer, Barnes, Rove, and so many other idiotic politicians. It is high time that the voters think for themselves and elect decent and honorable (honest) people to these government jobs. Yes, I am really tired of the parade of elitist politicians that promise us pie in the sky and do whatever they want as long as it enriches them... They just are better lairs..

It’s way past time to throw all the bums out and get some honest folks in office...

I plan on supporting any GOP nominee unless they are totally undeserving.

Okay. I'll bite.

How low are your standards? What would make a GOP nominee lose your vote?

Is this an attempt to tar Sarah Palin with a loss to make it easier for Mitt 2012? Is that what Rove and Krauthammer’s game is? To use this girl as a pawn in the larger game of egos and fancy political strategies?

I see that you’re on board with them regarding O’Donnell. I KNOW that you’re on board with Mitt and I’ve seen the tactics that Romney supporters use to try and get their way. This smells like something they would do.

We spent all of 2007 with Mitt Romney supporters running psy-ops on us and completely destroying any chance at nominating even a half-way decent candidate. How much more do we have to sacrifice to Mitt Romney’s ego? Do we have to give up winning the senate as well so his ego can be satiated?

Funny. I didn’t realize any of us had anything to prove to the guy who dismissed and belittled this movement to begin with. Far as I’m concerned we won when Castle no longer would be a Republican Senator. Win or lose the general makes no difference in the big picture because they’ll still be plenty of conservatives they helped elect that will win and don’t really care what Kraut has to say.

By “deserving” and “undeserving,” I mean corrupt and whacko and someone who consistently votes against my values a large percentage of the time.

Lesson in life: Synonymous = perfect. It will never happen, but we can get close.

What Charles desires is the exact strategy that has givne us a two party system that has such blurred lines.

What he proposes gives us Dem / Dem Lite. We know this since we are living it now and the GOP has been openly advocating it for years now.

Is that the outcome you really desire?

The WBAP morning talk guy Mark Davis said it best: "It's OK to be a voter with a mixture of liberal and conservative views - it's not OK for a politician to hold that set of views. They must be one or the other."

Palin and DeMint were simply posturing for their own 2012 ambitions. They are not doing it for gaining a governing majority in Congress.

They are doing it for a conservative governing majority, Chief.

He doesn’t get it - if Mike Castle is the Republican nominee, we’ve already lost.

My goodness, thanks for imparting that tidbit of life wisdom. Ever considered getting into the motivational poster business?

But, back to the business at hand. Castle would get close to what?

A Republican majority not committed to the platform of that very party got close to what?

I do not care about the party or feathering the beds of those who have attained power within the established structure of it.

I care about the principles it putatively espoused. And yes, that’s a deliberate past tense.

How much do you know about Castle's voting record? Do you support the majority of his votes? I believe he voted FOR Obamacare in the House. Do you support that vote?

He then goes on to explain how O'Donnell is not electable but Castle was!

Irony, from Charles.

I can’t speak to Palin’s intent but I would wager she did it because one of the largest tea party movement’s at her request helped take out Lisa Murkowski and they jumped into this race. She owed them.

As for DeMint he has said over and over he isn’t running. I guess you don’t elieve him but I don’t really care. I would only state for a FACT this guy has been clashing with his party for a few years now before this movement was even born. I have been watching him carefully even before his name ID took a large climb the last few months and so far I’ve seen nothing to indicate this guy isn’t sincere.

Both Sarah Palin and Mitt Romney have had candidates that they've endorsed win and lose. In fact, they are pretty much endorsing the same candidates.

I can assure you that if Mitt Romney had endorsed Christine O'Donnell (or ANY OTHER PERSON had endorsed Christine O'Donnell for that matter), I would be thinking and saying the exact same thing.

Why do you think things are schemes, when they are not?

We are now in this to win, of course.

All these people are on crack. Castle was a prime candidate to lose the general no matter what the early polls said. We’re lucky he got taken out in the primary. In a race against Coons, in this environment, he would have been seen as the entrenched, career pol and would have lost.

“I absolutely agree with everything that Charles Krauthammer has said.”

Uhuh. Castle has proven to be so magnanimous in his defeat. Sarc. His post election actions have proven that he has no business being a Senator. He is trite, sanctimonious and petty. Not qualities I want to see in a Senator or anyone else for that matter.
