We think we have an effective tool to use against the GOP establishment in calling it The Cocktail Party.
One way for us to illustrate all thats corrosive, septic, and moribund about the GOP establishment and Romney Republicans is to contrast them directly with the Tea Party itself.
Hence, Cocktail Party vs. Tea Party as a running series here on HillBuzz.
So, help us think of good contrasts to run. Heres a general idea..and just imagine the graphics we can create with all the material that is out there:
* The Cocktail Party is interested only in its own self-promotion while the Tea Party is impassioned to save America, defend the Constitution, and promote patriotism.
* The Cocktail Party is comprised of blue-blazer-wearing, soggy cucumber-and-mayonnaise-sandwich eating Romney Republican country club bluebloods while the Tea Party is made up of regular Americans, from all walks of life, who have had all they are going to take from the out of touch establishment.
* The Cocktail Party believes in the go-along-to-get-along approach to Washington and votes with Democrats whenever it wants to curry favor with the state media while the Tea Party stares the media down, doesnt shy away from the medias insults, and demands the American public hold the media accountable for its bias.
As weve said for some time, the GOP establishment in this country is almost as dangerous to America as the Left itself. Its time Americans took a hard look at WHY the Left was allowed to do all that its been doing
and turn an investigative eye towards the entrenched Republicans whove been in office, but have not been fighting the Left with everything theyve got
they way they should have been
they way they WOULD have been if they really stood for something and cared more about the people who sent them to office than the applause and accolades the media heaps on their beloved pet RINOS.
For the past 20 years, the GOP has systematically and maliciously robbed Americans of the opportunity to select the best candidate for the job by railroading true conservatives who have threatened the "old boy" establishment.
For this reason, and for their duplicity in the systematic erosion and destruction of our country's future and security, the Republican Establishment hacks should have their necks in the nooses first.
As one writer succinctly put it, The "cocktail party" GOP elites are the people who need to be bayoneted along the trail on our journey back to the core values that once made the GOP truly "grand."
Might backfire. A lotta folks would rather go to a cocktail party than a tea party, I think...
Might also backfire in that we could lose the House & Senate with all the in-fighting.
Can’t we wait until we get the Obamabots out of office before we eat our own?
What was it Rush said? “If can’t elect conservatives is this atmosphere...?”
Some of “our own” need to be “eaten.”
Doesn’t matter! When you continue to look at short term results, you are always going to be disappointed (although I think that we will prevail this year). Look long term...the Tea Party is so young and growing that it may take years before things start to change for the better.
After all, there are decades of corrupt party politics to overcome...
I think the more we trash the Republican establishment the more it would confuse or turn off the independents and not sures - they won’t vote for a Republican - bad brand.
Isn’t that using Karl Rove tactics?
Just vote them out - protest their spending - that would make the TEA Party about taxes and spending.
Remember - some of those establishment repubs will still be in office - and the voters know that.
We need to re-assure the Indies that we are draining our half of the swamp and in Nov we cross the isle and drain the other side.
I know the Hillbuzz doesn’t like Obama but wouldn’t this idea help Hillary in 2012?
No offense to Hillbuzz. :)
Replace Obamabots with Juan McCainites. No thank you. That attitude has "backfired" on us for years.
Hmmm. Tough one. Maybe not against the “establishment GOP” but the White House. They have a party every night with OUR money. Tea Party vs. Party all the Time, Party all the Time....
That's not what I'm saying, I'm thrilled about DE, thrilled that Castle got booted. I'm thrilled about every conservative candidate but you know what, it was done the right way. They were picked in the primaries, Republican primaries and that gives us a chance to turn this dictator-wannabe's agenda around.
I just don't think it's the time to start a civil war with our own party. Yes, there's horrible people, McCain, Castle, Rove, etc. But my focus for now is to get the conservatives who are running into office, to give us hope for future elections. The Tea Party is working with Republicans wherever possible to ensure the people take back their government. I think we should do the same.
Lol, I bet if Slick Willy heard this, he’d swing by the RNC and say “Hey, I heard you guys have coctail waitresses now, sign me up!”
Maybe contrast the cocktail party with a Sam Adams beer blast?
Don't confuse cleaning house and exposing unethical behavior with "in-fighting and back-biting."
We can't clean out the party without exposing and forcing out the people who are responsible for all this damage. I'll bet we attract more independents by openly ferreting out the bad guys and publicly draining our swamp.
The Palmetto Scoop reported:
"The sources said nearly 80 percent of Romneys former staff was absorbed by McCain and these individuals were responsible for what amounts to a premeditated, last-minute sabotage of Palin."
that Palin would be a serious contender for the Republican nomination in 2012 or 2016, which made her a threat to another presidential quest by Romney.
