Israel Air Force aircraft bombed a weapons warehouse in northern Gaza and two smuggling tunnels in the southern Strip on Thursday night.
The Israel Defense Forces said the targets were hit and that all planes returned safely to their base. There were no reports of injuries.
The attack was a response to the firing of a rocket and mortar shells at western Negev communities on Thursday. The IDF stressed that Hamas was a terrorist organization which is fully responsible for the events in the Strip.
On Thursday evening, a Qassam rocket exploded near a kibbutz north of the Gaza Strip, shortly after two mortar shells exploded south of a kibbutz in Shaar Hanegev Regional Council.
A total of nine mortar shells and one rocket were fired at Israel on Thursday, causing no injuries or damage.
Attacks from Gaza have increased in recent days, luckily, without causing any damage or injures. Nine days ago, after a week and a half of relative calm, fire on the western Negev from Gaza resumed, when a Qassam hit an open area in the Eshkol Regional Council.

Air Force strikes in Gaza
SNIPPET: IDF retaliates for deadly Qassam attack: Air Force hits several Gaza targets, including metal foundry, smuggling tunnel; Vice PM Shalom says Israel to offer strong response to rocket attack that killed Thai worker Thursday
SNIPPET: IDF aircraft struck at least four targets in the Gaza Strip on Friday, a day after a rocket fired from the Palestinian enclave killed a Thai worker in Israel, Hamas security officials and witnesses said.
SNIPPET: Israel also sent a letter of complaint to United Nations Secretary General Ban Ki-moon, who is due to visit Israel at the weekend, and to the UN Security Council.
A previously unknown group, Ansar al-Sunna, believed to share the hardline ideology of al-Qaeda, claimed responsibility for the rocket fire at Israel, as well as the al-Aqsa Martrys Brigades, a wing of the Fatah movement.
Earlier, Deputy Defense Minister Matan Vilnai said that Israel holds Hamas accountable for attacks originating in the Gaza Strip regardless of the group that commits them.

No More Facebook on IDF Bases
Israel National News ^ | October 21, 2010 | Chana Ya’ar
Posted on October 22, 2010 12:01:32 AM PDT by citizenredstater9271
The IDF has announced it will block soldiers from having access to social media on the Internet as well as email accounts while they are in offices on military bases across the country.
Among those to be barred are the popular Facebook and Twitter social networking sites, as well as Googles Gmail and the Yahoo! networks Yahoo! Mail.
It is possible that cellular service could be disrupted as well at least within offices, according to unconfirmed reports. Reportedly, soldiers might still be able to access the Internet on their private cell phones, and in their break rooms.
Military intelligence officials said Tuesday the decision was made in order to clamp down on public embarrassment for the IDF in the form of inappropriate photos that have been posted on such sites in the past.
The media storms that erupted following such postings, and careless leaks of information that resulted in the cancellation of military operations, led to the move, sources said. However, there has been no official confirmation of the decision.
