I asked Jim Robinson today to delete my account on Free Republic. He asked me to post an opus so some folks would not think that I was banned for no reason. Here is my brief opus:

Thank you Free Republic and Good Bye. This was an excellent forum for many years but now I do not think it is so in my humble opinion. The trend where the forum is going is very clear to me and I do not want to be part of it.

For all the Freepers with whom I have had good relationship and great discussions I want to thank you for all the good time we had together on this forum.

God Bless America and Our Brave Troops.

PS: Now Jim Robinson can ban my account.

IMHO everyone should probably brace yourselves for more of this sort of thing in the run-up to 2012.

Especially if the Tea Party is ascendant.

There is in fact a very stubborn, “elite” in the GOP. They include the people around Bush43, and Bush41. Many are serious people we have come to respect.

But they are also. Part of the problem now, that they have positioned themselves as gatekeepers, to keep out the sort of people who won so big yesterday.

This poster respects and is sorry to see JVeritas decide to leave. Perhaps it is related in some way, to mosques and korans.

If so, this poster asks only that JV think about why there has been a push-back on this forum against the mosque at GZ, and the rest:

Sometimes against things we hold dear. The freedom to do so, and the exchange of real ideas, makes that worthwhile.

This poster hopes that, upon some reflection, JVeritas will return.

Ha, no, you never mentioned it. You know why I chose Scythian? I studied Greek for two years and my Greek teacher, when he came to Scythian (as mentioned in the bible) stated that the mention of them was very important, because there were the Barbarians and then there were the Scythians, and Scythians were the Barbarians to the Barbarians.

And then he said, Christ's work on the the Cross was extended "even unto the Scythian" and it took my breath away, showing the depth and reach of the Cross. It was a very moving moment for me, that Christ could save and love the worst of humanity, then he could Love me. I never forgot it.

Here there is no Greek or Jew, circumcised or uncircumcised, barbarian, Scythian, slave or free, but Christ is all, and is in all.
