Seems the caller put Rush on the spot with that question. My gut told me, while listening, that Rush hadn't quite figured out how he wants to handle Karl on his egregious break with the conservative majority.
I don't fault him for dodging the question. He's got to decide how to handle Karl before he informs the public.
I doubt that Rove is the “bad cop”. Rove saw that one of ruling elite was dethroned by the peasantry and for a moment his disguise came off and the true Rove appeared.

Same here. It's one of the first things that popped into my head last night when Rove had his meltdown.
My thought was that Rove assaulted so many people, on so many levels with his outburst. He put people like Rush, and other important allies, in a terrible position.

He pretty much destroyed the Republican party with his brilliance, let our soldiers be demonized with no defense, never had Bush stand up to his critics, and allowed popular opinion to be turned against the war without lifting a finger to change it.

I doubt it. Rush tells the truth and shoots from the hip. I seriously doubt Roves ego would let him be ripped a new one (like just happened here) to help this campaign, particularly when this candidate is so despised by others in the ruling class.

Rove has been inside the beltway too long. Too many demo cocktail parties, too much “I wanna be loved and respected”, too much “The demo’s are not that bad, some of them are friends of mine”, too much lack of character and lack of moral center.
