One has to presume that the number one movie in every establishment GOPer's Netflix queue these days is Reality Bites
Despite a unified effort from both the MSM and the Republican party hierarchy, Christine O'Donnell went all uppity on them and easily defeated Mike Castle, who we were told was the best candidate because he knew how to win elections.
If you're a fan of convoluted arguments and political in-fighting, the past week has been a blast on the Right. When the reality that Mike Castle might not be so electable any more set those sold on his electability began rending garments, gnashing teeth and engaging in any other biblical histrionics you can think of. Why? Because Christine O'Donnell isn't really electable, according to them. But they were worried because she was about to win an election. Get it?

"We The People" want to kick Republican Establishment & RINO ass!!
So let’s say she wins. And Marco Rubio wins in FLA. And Joe Miller wins in AK. Couple with Scott Brown winning in MA. So here are three senators who owe nothing to the national GOP. Couple them with others like Pat Toomey in PA who has been steamrollered in the past by the GOP establishment for people the likes of Arlen Specter and are poised to win now. We are finding a core group of politicians who just really are not beholden to the national party in any real way. What does this mean for the dynamic? Will we finally see some change or is the hissy fit by Karl Rove evidence that the GOP establishment will dig in and tear apart the party rather than accept a role where they aren’t the backroom power brokers anymore?

“Castles terms marked the full establishment of what Delaware political commentator Celia Cohen has called the Age of Incumbency. Following du Ponts very successful and popular terms as Governor, Delaware politics seemed to have reached a consensus, with leaders of both parties being regularly re-elected, while working closely and quietly together.....”
