The National Republican Senatorial Committee refused to fund the Tea Party darling in Delaware Christine ODonnell, who kicked out of office the establishment Republican Castle in the state primary yesterday.
This was the ugliest decision the Republican elite could have made.
When folks donate to the NRSC they expect them to fight for every senatorial candidate. They should not discriminate between the glamorous former CEO lady and the woman who struggled through home foreclosure.
People expect the NRSC to support all senatorial candidates that folks moved forward in legitimate Republican primaries. It is not the Republicans elite who decides who is worthy to be Senator and who is not it is the voters in the primaries.
It doesnt matter if it is ODonnell, Alvin Green, Charley Wrangle or Barack Obama: it is voters who have a say, not some politburo.
The Republicans fight united for the tax-cuts for the rich, but the Republican elite would not support their senatorial candidate because she experienced how it feels to get bankrupt paying for college education. She knows how it feels to default on mortgage. But the NRSC is only supporting fancy-shmancy Castle-like candidates?
The people in Delaware have spoken. All year long we hear the Republicans lecture us on state rights and power to the local communities. It is time for the Republican elite to walk the walk shoulder to shoulder with Christine ODonnell because we the people said so.
The National Republican Senatorial Committee refuses to support not just ODonnel but all the thousands of folks that voted for her hoping she will represent them in Congress. The NRSC is betraying the republican primary voters in Delaware. Shame on you!
I hope that while I am writing this post the NRSC is reversing their decision.
On Steele, it seems like a lot of the haters are members of the RNSC & those insiders that I do not trust. I frankly cannot tell on Steele. I KNOW that some of the complaints have been total BS. But... I just don’t know about Steele... yet.
If you have links, I am interested.
NRSC Raised Money Using Christine O'Donnell's Name the Day Before Delaware Primary
We won! They will support her. here is the NRSC statement:

It’s gone viral!
That IS good news, and I would have even given them credit for supporting the conservative cause.... if the NRSC hadn't had to have a figurative gun pointed at their head first before they agreed to support her.
Just donated $25 of my limited funds to Chistine O'Donnell.
Let’s see where to start:
RNC supported Scuzzyfaza in direct opposition to the will of the community.
Steele tried to double dip on compensation writing a book. This while he had just started the dang job.
Steele continues to soft pedal everything and never takes a stance against Dems and progressives that is distinctly stark.
RNC has supported other candidates in opposition to the desire and will of the people.
He raises a lot of money? Sure. Then why not spend it on candidates WE have chosen.
RNC continues to serve up milk toast candidates and fair weather republicans ala Charlie Christ, who needs to be retired.
Personally, the whole national support mechanism just doesn’t cut it for me.
Partly, I understand their strategy of spending money on and supporting “electable” candidates.
Thing is, electable candidates with an R next to their name are no longer acceptable. Witness Olympia Snowe, a hag, and her equally ugly mug sister.
How is these two continue to be re-elected? Because they are an R and the national organizations support them.
I want them gone and replaced with a Democrat so there will be no question where they stand and what we can expect on their votes.
Instead the Ugly Twins continue to play games, sounding like they may vote in our favor and suddenly, at the last minute, voting in opposition to our expressed desires.
Oh! Hope my meager contribution helps.
You see? The only thing you had on Steele was that he wrote a book. A Chairman writing a book makes sense to me.
I’m not saying I’ve made up my mind, but all the dirt seems like BS to me. Almost everything you said was generic.
What has Steele done?
Good idea. Although I think I got off their call-mail list after my last “response”.
Well, they didn’t say they wouldn’t “support” her, they said they wouldn’t spend money on her race because they wanted to spend money where they felt they had a better chance of winning.
They do make decisions like this all the time, I am pissed that they felt that they had to say anything this early after the primary.
But giving them a HUGE benefit of the doubt, I am hoping that their current stance is about placating Castle so he goes away quietly, and that later they will be more supportive at least in words if not money.
Yeah, I’m pretty pissed off at that. As Mark Levin said last night, it’s not like she is accused of a criminal act. She’s accused of saying things. It makes sense for an opponent to call her out on those things, but it is stupid for anybody to attack her for that now.
Are you listening to Rush right now? He is telling why the national orgs are feckless bastards and repeating my original post.
Debbie Scozzafaza? Does that ring a bell?
I could research my grievances but really, my overall opinion of the RNC is so low I haven’t contributed in 6 years and Steele exacerbated the problem.
I wish I was listening to Rush, but no. I am also disgusted with the RNC, and I think they are, in general, fools. But, on Michael Steele, time after time what starts with a lot of smoke just fails to actually be anything. He wrote a book. Really?
What is the connection from Scozzafava to Steele? Is there something solid there?
Initially I thought Steele was a step in the right direction, with many many more steps needed. Then I heard a LOT of noise. But every time I stop to check something out, all I find is stuff like “he write a book” which is not any problem at all, in my opinion.
Are you sure the haters are not the old school guys I want to run out of town?
