Delaware must remember The Battle of Trenton! It seems so incomprehensible that such an important battle in American history could so easily be forgottena battle that left an indelible mark on Delaware, New Jersey and the American Revolution. It is time to remember the Battle of Trenton, Delaware, and reclaim that lost liberty.
After suffering a defeat in the Battle of Long Island, General George Washington had 4,707 troops fit for duty. The end of the year was approaching. More enlistments would run out, reducing the size of Washingtons army to less than 1,500 men. Washington had been in retreat, and with winter coming, the British could soon continue their pursuit with the Delaware River froze over.

KEYWORDS:
Or in the words of Lieutenant Colonel William B. Travis, written in a letter on February 24, 1836,
"The enemy has demanded a surrender at discretion, otherwise, the garrison are to be put to the sword, if the fort is taken I have answered the demand with a cannon shot, & our flag still waves proudly from the walls I shall never surrender or retreat. Then, I call on you in the name of Liberty, of patriotism, & every thing dear to the American character, to come to our aid, with all dispatch..."
So...we are calling on you in the name of liberty, Delaware!

This is one of my FAVORITE stories of the Revolutionary War. As I am, as my Mother, and her Mother, all those before, a DAR (Daughter of the American Revolution).
It was my Great, Great, Great, Great, Great, Great, Great, Great, Great, Grandfather who paid for it.
During the Revolutionary War, in December 1776, Morris stayed in Philadelphia when the rest of Congress left for Baltimore. He loaned $10,000 to pay Washingtons troops. This helped to keep the Army together just before the battles of Trenton and Princeton. He subsequently paid from his own funds the troops via Morris notes to continue Washington's ability to wage war.

Or as General Washington thought, Experience teaches us that it is much easier to prevent an enemy from posting themselves than it is to dislodge them after they have got possession. But we must dislodge this enemyfor they are nothing but an enemy to every man, woman and child that occupies not only America, but every nation on Earth. Starting RIGHT NOW !!!
Thanks for the link !

Well the battle is in it’s closing hour. So we should know the outcome fairly quickly would be my guess, Trenton or no Trenton.

These elections with a few thousand votes I’m not used to. I think the 08 GOP governors primary had less than 30,000 voters show up. But I have to keep in mind this is state with only one CD.
