Throughout this recession Obama was busy creating jobs — website storefronts, mall shops and street vendors eagerly peddled Obama memorabilia allowing the general public to actually touch the 'birth of hope' and capture his moment in history. Alas, this once seemingly recession-proof industry is now struggling to survive.
The Washington Post reports, “Sales peaked at the height of Obamamania, between the election and the inauguration.”
“In Union Station, the souvenir shop once dubbed the Obama Store because of its mostly Obama-related selection has closed. I have had, still have and always will have HOPE and it’s free. It’s what was taught to me by my parents, teachers and church. I don’t need a doll to push that whole idea..
