Beck and Palin forum draws 4,000 in Alaska

ANCHORAGE, Alaska — The line to get into the Glenn Beck-Sarah Palin road show's Alaska stop Saturday stretched around the corner and down a city block. One woman came with her hair tied back in an American flag; a bushy-haired man in a leather Jesus jacket warned of an impending 8.6 earthquake. Most, though, were ordinary-looking families, and with tickets at $73.75 to $225 each, a few even showed up with several children in tow.

If ever there was a time, place and message that seemed fated to meet, it was this Sept. 11 anniversary, the two leading personalities of bring-back-America conservatism, and the remote and opinionated land that gave birth to the political phenomenon that is Sarah Palin.

"He could be anywhere on the Earth today, and he chose Alaska!" said the former governor and GOP vice-presidential candidate. She spoke briefly to the crowd of 4,000 before sitting on a stool next to Beck for a three-hour show that resembled a tent revival more than a political forum.

Beck and Palin have become an iconic matchup in conservative hearts across the country, but the two were at pains Saturday to say there would be no big political announcements.

"We would like to announce that in 2012, we will both be ... voting," Beck said, grinning.

Since Alaska only has 698,473 souls, isn't a crowd of 4,000+ a pretty big deal?

"I do not believe Sarah Palin has any motivation other than making money and I believe Glenn Beck is the same way," said Paula Standefer, who drove from Kenai for the protest. "He's laughing all the way to the bank."

Beck has said he will donate his speaking fee. The Associated Press reported that Palin wasn't paid for her appearance.

Kinda hard to make big bucks and laugh all the way to the bank when you donate your speaking fees, or don't get paid at all, huh? LOL. Stupid liberals strike again. Perhaps they should actually LISTEN to what Beck and Palin are saying, instead of listening to the garbage that the MSM, DU, KOS, and HuffPo are dishing out, d'oh!

The problem being that the statements of protestors are never challenged or corrected in the MSM, and the uninformed accept them as fact.

If I'm not mistaken, that's more people than Sharpton got for his counter 8-28 rally. And that was in DC, where his likely supporters live packed like sardines.

Glen and Sarah got 4k in Alaska.

Sorry to get a bit off topic but I can’t find a daily Beck thread this morning. I have a question for any Beck Insiders here please.

I am thinking of joining, but as an Insider do you get the songs and jingles in the podcasts?
I am a Rush member and the podcasts do not include the songs and parodies.

I thought that “When Will I Be Loved” parody of Obama on the Friday show with Doc Thompson was kind of cool. If you are an Insider, was that song in your podcast?
thanks a lot
