Deep in the wretched bowels of the 1980s, only arrogance was king. And nowhere was that more evident than in the entertainment industry. This is the true story of one actor and the four letter word he created to guide his career. The word however had plans of its own.
And yes, it is a true story.

One of the FUnniest videos I have ever seen. I was wondering what happened to Philip Michael Thomas (Tubbs on "Miami Vice") and his bloted ego plan to win the Emmy, Grammy, Oscar, and Tony (EGOT) within five years of his announcement in 1986. I did some web searching and found this video. Watch and you will split your gut laughing. HILARIOUS!!!

Sonny Crockett: You just got to learn to go with the heat, Rico. It’s just like life. You just gotta keep telling yourself, no matter how hot it gets, sooner or later there’s a cool breeze coming in.
Det. Ricardo Tubbs: Should I write that down?

It was HILARIOUS. You sort of have to be familiar with the out of control ego of Philip Michael Thomas and his ultimate fate.

Well. I’d never heard of this guy and now at least a know why. Seems to be something of an 80’s cult thing though. I think this video was probably making more of his career than he apparently did.

Hey, if you think it's funny, more power to you. And yes, I'm familiar with PMT's ego.
IMHO, it was lame.

plan to win the Emmy, Grammy, Oscar, and TonyOnly one person (possibly a second in the last few years) has gotten all four. Anyone know who? (I learned this little piece of trivia back in the 70s, but I have to check on someone from a couple years ago.)
