Palin:Koran Burning Is Insensitive, Unnecessary; Pastor Jones, Please Stand Down
Facebook ^ | 9/8/10 | Sarah Palin

Posted on 09/08/2010 2:42:45 PM PDT by GQuagmire

Book burning is antithetical to American ideals. People have a constitutional right to burn a Koran if they want to, but doing so is insensitive and an unnecessary provocation – much like building a mosque at Ground Zero.

I don’t see any division here unless conservatives are now kowtowing to their muslim overlords.

Don't be blind, that is exactly what the liberals are going to do with this issue, or at least try. Yes, there are divisions, and people like you, with your disregard for fellow conservatives, are part of the problem.

I am bothered by this story because I know, not think, KNOW that churches are going to be destroyed and innocent Christians are going to die around the world because of it.

So, in your mind, appeasement and quiet acceptance is the answer? Let Islam creep extend into all areas of society, Sharia and other aspects replacing what we grew up with and cherish?

Thank you. Some people here on FR cannot get this concept of consistency. :)

>>>I never said there were “moderate” Muslims. I just think there are more effective ways to fight radical Islam than burning books.<<<

Ok. Maybe I should have worded it this way:

There are no radical or non-radical muslims in Islam. There are only muslims (those who adhere to the Koran) and infidels (those who don’t). The class of infidels include false muslims (those who claim to be muslims, but do not follow the Koran).

Wow. You think all those Christians in Saudi Arabia might be in danger now?

Possibly. Westerners do all the work over there, so maybe.

Where is my disregard for fellow conservatives? Seems as many agree with me as they do with you.

So, how about your disregard for fellow conservatives. Or is it only you that has the right to claim being disregarded?

I can say one thing. Your stance reflects what the libs think.

Great, we are on the way to a fine caliphate. We can all agree that we must be the only tolerant ones. See, we aren’t talking about the intolerece of a Victory mosque anymore. We are fighting defending muslims in spite of the right of this kook to burn a stupid Koran.

I don’t care if they burn the Koran, it isn’t me doing it. They do have the right to do so.

This is the first stupid thing I've heard Sarah say.

The last thing one should worry about when deciding to publicly burn "Mein Kamf" is the Nazis one will offend.

One should be more concerned that the volume in question is held in complete contempt, and its contents and followers are considered disposable.

Frowning takes 68 muscles.
Smiling takes 6.
Pulling this trigger takes 2.
I'm lazy.

I’d love to visit the Reagan Library. You must have had a great time.

No vials for you and hubby? *snort*

Back to Sarah - right now, I’m kinda wait and see. I did like these latest remarks.

I really liked Chris Christie, but he’s come out for the GZM, and it sounds like he’s not all that pro-life. I’m quite turned off to him now.

Politicians are like shoes. If they don’t fit before you leave the store, they’re not going to feel any better later.

"Where did you get that ridiculous statement?"

More than paper and glue it seems by your rigorous defense. Why then the defense against burning books that are allegedly bought legitimately? I said this before, a stupid PR stunt, but a PR stunt under the freedom granted by expression, assembly, and speech. Also, the uproar by the media/government of a small "Church" is so transparent, it is not even funny.

But how do you begin to open the hearts and minds of those who have committed themselves to Islam by burning that book?

Only God and themselves can do that. Christianity has been around for over 2,000 years, yet the West is at fault, hmmm. Muslims have a keen understanding of the Gospel yet constantly reject the Message and violently repress those who preach repentance. The more we submit instead of resist and debate, the less the Gospel can be preached. Islam is not compatible to other belief systems, period. Let the brush off of the sandals commence (Christianity is loud and clear) and hope, like any other individual, come to repentance.

Yeah, and it going to do a lot for Sarah’s future if she aligns herself with a God Hates Fags preacher.

If the gruesome video production of the agonizing death of Daniel Pearl and the 9/11 disastrous attack wasn’t enough to show the world what Islam really is, then surely Time’s cover of Aisha surely did.
How many “Honor” killings.”Honor” mutilations, indiscriminate bombings and shootings before the picture is clear!
For those who thinks kissing their a$$ gets them a reward. you’ll be their slave or last to die.
Remember the 4 men burned and hung from the bridge in Iraq?
And the Beat goes on!

We all made a second trip to RWR’s Library to see AF1. I loved walking through his airplane. Spotting the bowls of jellybellies on tables brought tears to my eyes. I hope you’re able to visit his library. I plan to go again some day!

Ditto on Chris Christie, but I heard him tell Imus he’s not interested in running anyway. He said he’s very happy being the governor of NJ and he sounded so earnest, I believe him.

I like Sarah best of all. She has no roots in DC and she’s hostile to the way our business is conducted and she has no use for the lamestream either. I like her “fight”. She’s genuine.

Thanks for making this evening so much fun!

That preacher is a media harlot, and the media has lit and flamed this firestorm. Anything for a “story.”

He's a tool of Satan is what he is. He isn't interested in going out in spreading the teachings of Christ. He is interested in getting media attention and by supporting the Westboro folks, he's showing that he's interested in doing the work of Satan. He is also drawing attention away from the mosque in NYC which is helping to do the work of Nobama and his supporters.

My son is in the Marines and in Afghanistan, and isn't even old enough to legally buy a beer in the US, but he's done more to fight radical Islam than this so-called "church" in Florida has done since it was founded.

Of course, in the eyes of this so-called "church" and in the eyes of Westboro Baptist Church, my son deserves to die because he chose to serve his country in the military.

Where is my disregard for fellow conservatives? Seems as many agree with me as they do with you.

There are many of us here, fellow conservatives, who disagree with you, and all you do is moan and groan all about Sharia Masters, and how we are falling for it. Thats Bullcrap and you know it, at least you SHOULD know it.

I can say one thing. Your stance reflects what the libs think.

If the libs happen to agree with me, thats fine. I don't base my thoughts on what this group or that group are thinking. THINK FOR YOURSELF. As for the Liberals, blind squirrels, broken clocks, yadda yadda.

We can all agree that we must be the only tolerant ones.

Who ever here has said that? What freepers are saying that? You are putting words and motives into fellow freepers mouths, and that is inconsiderate, to say the least. Borderline slander.

See, we aren’t talking about the intolerece of a Victory mosque anymore. We are fighting defending muslims in spite of the right of this kook to burn a stupid Koran.

Their plan is working perfectly...

I don’t care if they burn the Koran, it isn’t me doing it. They do have the right to do so. Its not going to ruin my day, but I do think its stupid and even counterproductive. But yeah, they have a right. Same with flag burners, gay rights paraders, and all that kind of stuff, which I think is stupid as well.

God bless your son and your family and I will get on my knees tonight to pray to God that no harm comes to our brave troops in service to our county due to the actions of this hateful preacher, his like-minded followers and the damn news media that sent this story world wide.

I have a grandson who’s graduating from boot camp at MCRD next week, so please know I truly share your anger and your angst.

The damn news media in our country are only too happy to divert attention from the MURDER MOSQUE at Ground Zero and 9/11’s anniversary by focusing attention on the work of Satan’s preacher(s). I have pluralized preacher(s) because I understand that another one has said he will burn Korans should the one in Florida back down.

Thanks for posting to me. God speed.

As an aside -if nothing else, this issue by default, puts a fork in the flawed progressive contention that religion has no place at the political table in spite of some courts recently declaring religious irrelevance as fact...

I have said and maintain that the Koran teaches, promotes, and glorifies violence.  Yet, I have never considered burning it.  However, I don't care if someone burns a Koran. After all, Muslims not only burn Bibles, but their violent behavior extends to attacking and killing Christians and Jews.

But I understand Sarah's position, and as a politician it is entirely expected, as it would be crazy if she would foment and encourage any kind of violence.

I tend to believe Christie on that, too.

I think you’re going to get a kick out of this: if the election were held tomorrow, my dream slate would be Rush Limbaugh and Sarah Palin. No kidding. His CPAC speech was of Presidential caliber, and he’s very strong. His skeletons (like Beck’s) are all out of the closet, and his life is stable and happy. I think he’d be effective domestically and internationally.

Barring the emergence of another candidate, a Limbaugh/Palin ticket would be strong enough to beat the Romneybots. I’m afraid of too many people being fooled by Romney, who could wreck the country pretty well.

Anyway, I’ll wait and see.

Thanks for making my evening fun, too. And it’s always great to meet a likeminded FRiend. :-)

I think rudeness is unnecessary whatever the culture. It’s rude to burn another religion’s religious articles. I wouldn’t want it done to mine. I don’t like when people disrespect my flag either so I don’t disrespect anyone else’s.

Building the mosque at Ground Zero is beyond rude; it’s cruel. That spot is a gravesite and should not be used for anything but what it was at the time of the massacre.
