You mean the Bush/Paulson bailout?
A lot of Republicans voted for that, including a bunch of conservatives. Do you want a list of their names?
Did he vote for the auto bailouts?
You seem stuck in 2008, or was there more than one bailout of the auto industry?
You also seem unaware that GM was a major employer in Delaware from 1947-2009 and that Fisk Automotive is presently retooling the old Wilmington Assembly plant with plans to reopen in 2012.
I can't say I blame Castle for voting in his constituents interest, especially when the future looked so bleak in late 2008. Can you?
What about 2009 when Castle voted for Cap and Trade or 2010 when he voted for the Disclose Act? Is that going back too far also?
The Bush Administration, the media and the left had lots of people panicked enough to support TARP. However Castle, with his vote FOR Cap and Trade, took it much further, proving not only is he left on social issues, he's left on fiscal issues as well.
Unlike Christine, he's proven he'll screw the voters time and again.
Amazingly, Castle didn't decide to vote against Obamacare until four days before the vote in March. Or was it three? : ) And then probably only because he realized voting FOR Obamacare even in Delaware, would KILL his political career. Gosh, darn, just think, he might've missed out on these petty squabbles with Ms. O'Donnell and an opportunity to destroy a decent person's reputation and career.
Unlike Christine, Castle has undeniably proven, he'll screw the voters time and again, particularly when he thinks he can get away with it. I say to the voters of Delaware, STOP THE INSANITY, VOTE CHRISTINE!!! : )
The issue was bailouts, was it not? The topic was not WHEN.
So, I answered your question. And no, the GOP did not have to cvote for the pork barrel TARPS or stimulus.
They did not stop nor stem the economic problems, did they?
More money down the rathole. Soemone has to take responsibility. How about those who voted for them taking responsibility for their votes?
Secondly, I am quite aware of the GM and Chrysler plants in Boxwood and Newark, DE that were shuttered. Even our economic moron of a Vice President could not stop that from happening. But Barney Frank was able to keep a lowly GM parts plant in HIS district open for an extra six months-imagine that!! Yeah, I fought to keep those plants open—those were three thousand good paying jobs that will not return—and Castle,Carper, Kaufmann and Biden—didn;t do squat.
But yeah, let’s have some more of them small business roundtables, Mike Castle!!
The bailouts were bullcrap, and anyone who voted for them was pandering politically, and not acting in the interests of their constituents. Your grandkids will be paying the bill for that stupidity.
And as far as Fisker, we—you and I—the American taxpayer—have GIVEN him $ 500 million for his new tech foreign company, of which he used $ 18 million to buy the GM plant—in order to build the $ 80,000 plus four door hybrid luxury sports car.
So we let GM, a company WE own, lose the plant, fire 1800 people, and then give $500 million of OUR money to a FOREIGN manufacturer, who then BUYS the plant with OUR money in order to build an expensive hybrid sportscar—MAYBE—in 2012.
See any tiny thing wrong with that picture, sport?
Now, go back to Mike Castle’s HQ and stop bothering us with your nonsense.
