I’m glad that at least some countries appreciate American workmanship. Since the obamanation has taken office, America hasn’t been given credit for anything... but the opposite...
Our favorite Auto Service Center is in Harbor City, California for the past twenty-five years, and is owned and operated by Mr. Kjellberg formerly of Sweden, and a crew of primarily Swedish mechanics. He specializes in servicing Volvo, and Saab cars, but others as well.
He’s been in the process of restoring a 1959 Cadillac for seemingly ever. His business keeps him too busy for his own projects anymore.
I remember about twenty years ago he stripped a Volvo down to the axles, and rebuilt the entire car installing a Corvette engine in it. He created one major beast. WOW! I’ll never forget the day my Son, and myself visited, and he took off in that car like something heading to outer space. Quite an experience.
I was in Sweden in the latter seventies on a business trip when I discovered the Swedish love affair with cars. My awareness was revived with meeting Mr. Kjellberg in the mid 1980’s.
I loved watching that. I wish I could restore some old classic like these. Nice hobby, way to go Sweden.
