Why is Mike Castle Running From Christine O’Donnell?
The Daily Conservative ^ | September 2, 2010 | Admin

Posted on 09/04/2010 3:16:38 PM PDT by DelaWhere

If Mike Castle becomes the next United States Senator from Delaware he is going to get sworn in, serve a bit, then become a Democrat, resign, and let Beau Biden get an appointment.

It’s a done deal. The deal has been made already. I’m hearing this not just from Christine O’Donnell people, but party regulars in Delaware, some of whom support Castle. It is insane.

Maybe that is why Mike Castle is running from Christine O’Donnell. He is afraid to have to answer questions about this. The man will not debate her to save his life.

Has Pete DuPont endorsed him?

Gov. Chris Christie of New Jersey endorsed Mike Castle yesterday saying:

"I urge every Republican out there from Delaware who believes in smaller, smarter government to send somebody like Mike Castle to the United States Senate"

I agree with Mark Levin. As far as her personal debts, etc. Who in the he** cares? I only care that she will vote the right way to save us from the communists in this administration.

And, sometimes, it takes a while to find all the receipts, etc., that the IRS requests. So, this is an issue? I think not. I guess its ok for Charlie Rangel, and Tim Geithner, and the list goes on of DEMS who didn’t even bother to pay taxes.

She had a foreclosure on her house? Oh my God! That’s horrible! She can’t run or serve in the U.S. Senate. That makes her very close to the plight that most Americans are feeling right now. Unlike the elitists who pretend to feel their pain - she has!

And, maybe their are libs out there stalking her. Its way to easy to dismiss these charges and call her unstable. What if they are true?

People wake up to the fact that we don’t need Castle elected. I was so thrilled with Chris Christie, and then he pulls a boneheaded stunt like endorsing this man. God help us!

>>>Castle doesn’t seem the type to give up power once he has it.<<<

Boy, are we slow learners....

Jeffords, Specter, Crist - Ring any bells?

They seek power by switching!

I like that little touch of “runaway bride” look in her left eye.
That scumbag Castle must lose. Christine looks like the real deal to me.
Easy on the eyes, too.

Gov. Chris Christie of New Jersey endorsed Mike Castle yesterday

I saw that yesterday. In one fell swoop Christie went from conservative hero and POTUS material to lying slob.
He should definitely have kept his fat mouth shut.

Didn't you know that Erick Erckson from RedState (who wrote the month old article you're excerpting from) has publicly thrown in the towel because of these sleazy tactics of the O'Donnell camp?

Read about it HERE

Who cares what Erick Erickson thinks? Mark Levin has far better conservative credentials than Erick Erickson. I can’t believe someone (Mac_truck) would go to such lengths to make sure this LIBERAL Mike Castle gets elected.

“Didn’t you know that Erick Erckson from RedState (who wrote the month old article you’re excerpting from) has publicly thrown in the towel because of these sleazy tactics of the O’Donnell camp?”

Yea. Is that the same Erick Erickson who lied about knowing who Wil Folks worked for, then compared Christine to Folks? The same Erick Erickson who works for CNN now? The same Erick Erickson who has personally made comments far worse than the bloggers who used to work for Christine O’Donnell, as related in the post below:

“The smear campaign appears to be coordinated and timed to coincide with Christine’s surge. Unfortunately, it appears to have enlisted some members of the so-called conservative punditocracy, who seem to be rushing at her as one man. Jim Geraghty at NRO trashed her, although this is not much of a surprise since NRO ceased some time ago being anything more than a pipe organ for the GOP Establishment. Erick Erickson at Redstate was a big surprise, since he had endorsed her earlier. Erickson’s stated reason for abandoning her rings hollow though. He claims that her campaign did not distance itself quickly enough from a website, apparently controlled or frequented by former O’Donnell staffers, who posted a video suggesting Castle was gay. Although O’Donnell condemned the ad and said it had nothing to do with her campaign, Erickson was not appeased. Which I found quite curious in light of Erickson’s own personal peccadillo of just last year in which he himself made the following comment on Twitter about Supreme Court Justice David Souter’s retirement:

“The nation loses the only goat f——— child molester to ever serve on the Supreme Court in David Souter’s retirement.”

If you want to push the vile liberal Castle, I suggest DU. You won’t find a receptive audience over here. And Erickson? Give me a break.

Christine O’Donnell ran as an Independent in 2005, which is where I first met her. She ran on a write in and received a majority vote in Delaware’s biggest county.

She was NOMINATED by the Delaware GOP for 2008 to run for Senator against Biden.

This year the Delaware GOP nominated Mike Castle because...well Castle’s been Delaware’s Rep in the House since the early 90’s and he wanted the Senator job vacated by Biden. Also it was believed, probably correctly, that if Beau Biden were to run as the Dem for Senator that Castle would be the only pub that could beat him.

Beau Biden has problems, however, including an upcoming case against a child pervert Pediatrician and he had a little stroke recently.

I dunno, the GOP might have nominated O’Donnell again were it not for the above factors. She didn’t do half bad against Biden but no one had a chance of beating Biden...who’s been Delaware’s Senator since the early 70’s.

So now that Castle’s got the GOP endorsement, O’Donnells running as an Independent for the primary to win the Repub nomination.

Point is...O’Donnell’s been around. She’s no flake although the opposition’s did lots of digging and found a bunch of nothing stuff.

AGAIN...O’Donnell was nominated by the Delaware GOP in 2008 but now that’s she’s challenging Castle she’s all of a sudden a horrible lying thief?

WAS THE DELAWARE GOP LYING IN 2008 OR ARE THEY LYING NOW?

It disturbs me to no end that members of FreeRepublic, who should be experts on how a complicit media lies, seem to want to jump on the bandwagon to villify Christine O’Donnell...who has been, see the above, around and who was once nominated and ran for the very position she now seeks.

You don’t like O’Donnell, you want to believe the hoopla raised to get Castle elected so he may vote for Cap and Trade in the Senate (He and the Vietnam guy were the only two Repubs in the House to vote for it). What...you don’t think Castle will vote for Cap and Trade in the Senate?

Heh.

He also voted for TARP, the recent DISCLOSE act, against the surge in Iraq and said he would not vote to ban Obamacare.

But hey, let’s beat the hell out of O’Donnell, a past candidate and how comes they didn’t find out all this stuff before? Because we really need Castle as a Senator he’s such a loyal and dependable Conservative.

Whatever suits you.

It’s one thing to think that there might be some issues with a conservative, it’s quite another to actively seek to harm a conservative and to help a liberal. Isn’t Free Republic supposed to be a conservative site?

I’d be interested in hearing someone defend Mike Castles positions on the issues. Why exactly should we pass Cap & Trade, as Mike Castle would do?

Castle is a leftist. No Freeper comes on this site and pushes someone who is as big a liberal as Castle. People have been zotted here for pushing the Mittster, for crying out loud. (and rightly so, I might add). Although Mittens on his worst day does not approach Castle in terms of his leftism.

But the Delaware GOP is out beating the hell out of this woman who THEY nominated in 2008! Now she’s a lying scum bucket.

A couple of points then you can filibuster some more.

First, according to O'Donnell herself the Delaware state GOP didn't do anything to help her in 2008. She complains about that repeatedly in a recent interview with Dan Gaffney just a few days ago.

Listen to interview HERE

The 'no help from state GOP' is also part of the fundraising stichk she uses with out-of-state groups, along with the blatent exageration that she 'won' two out of three Delaware counties in her race against Biden in 08. Not only did she lose all three counties in 2008, Biden won by the largest margin in his career.

Second, many of the questions regarding her credibility are recent, within the last year, and they are substantial. Using campaign funds for personal use is a serious FEC violation, and is exactly the kind of baggage the GOP does NOT need going into November. Especially when it can be used as a stick against Democrats.

Finally, her behavior of late has many former supporters concerned. She accuses them of 'selling out' or 'on the paytroll' of Mike Castle. It's a bit sad when someone who is obviously undergoing a lot of stress starts to come apart at the seams.

I read Erick’s piece - I have known Castle since the days when he would jog around downtown Dover... Hmmm, over a quarter century ago...

Well before Erick wrote that, I had a face to face exchange with Castle’s State Coordinator (who I have known for quite a few years too - but not as long as Castle) When I was told that ‘You know what you will have with Mike’ - My reply was ‘Another Specter’ the conversation was immediately changed to - ‘but who could win in November’ to which I simply said ‘Rasmussen’... The response to that was - ‘Gee it’s getting late - I have to get home and feed my horses’.

Anyway, given that they are saying it could quite possibly be a 50-50 split in the Senate, are you suggesting that Castle would remain an (R)? Even if the Dems offered him Committee position and power as they did Specter?

Sorry, but I trust him NOT!!!

Who do you support in Maine?
Snowe and Collins?

After all, Maine is Liberal, and a Conservative can’t win there, right?

Castle would be worse than them.

Christie endorsed the ground zero mosque as well; not really surprised to see him with Castle and Bloomberg.
