If Mike Castle becomes the next United States Senator from Delaware he is going to get sworn in, serve a bit, then become a Democrat, resign, and let Beau Biden get an appointment.
Its a done deal. The deal has been made already. Im hearing this not just from Christine ODonnell people, but party regulars in Delaware, some of whom support Castle. It is insane.
Maybe that is why Mike Castle is running from Christine ODonnell. He is afraid to have to answer questions about this. The man will not debate her to save his life.

Christine's unflinching positions: Pro-Constitution - Pro-National Defense - Pro-Life - Pro-Family - Pro-Second Amendment - Pro-States Rights - Pro-Border Security - Pro-Free Market - Pro-Freedom - Anti-High Taxes - Anti-Big Government - Anti-ObamaCare. (Aren't these the values we said we are looking for?)

Is Christine electable in November? Rasmussen had her up over Coons in July
http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/news/2553576/posts Castle is being challenged in the states September 14 GOP primary by conservative activist Christine ODonnell. Coons runs virtually even with ODonnell who picks up 41% of the vote to the Democrats 39%.
DeMint endorsement coming?
http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/2556853/posts "...As ODonnell criticizes Castle for supporting the bank bailouts, cap and trade and abortion rights, she appears to have caught DeMints attention. The two met recently and a spokesman for the senators political action committee said DeMint was extremely impressed.
Shes a principled conservative who has been overlooked by the Washington establishment. The senator has not made an endorsement in this race but he's watching it closely to see if O'Donnell can get within striking distance, Matt Hoskins said.
Tea Party Express: O'Donnell Trails By 2% Among Likeliest Voters
http://hotlineoncall.nationaljournal.com/archives/2010/09/tea_party_expre_2.php Christine O'Donnell is trailing Rep. Mike Castle by only 2% among voters most likely to turnout in the Delaware Senate GOP primary, according to a Tea Party Express poll. The poll, obtained by Hotline On Call, found that among GOP voters who indicated they are most likely to vote -- or "10s" in polling lingo -- Castle leads O'Donnell 43% to 41%. The Tea Party Express released the top line of the poll on Thursday. That showed O'Donnell trailing Castle by nearly 6%, 43.7% to 38%. These new numbers suggest that Castle is significantly more vulnerable than originally believed.

Mike Castle is a total disaster. Is Christine a little unpolished? Well, no matter how bad she is, we really need to dump Castle into the dustbin of history. He sounds like another Arlen Specter or Charlie Crist.
The party pros really need to learn—again and again and again if necessary—that this stuff won’t fly with the voters.

His ads are so negative and vicious, he’s going to have them backfire and he’s going to lose.

Some might call Christine “unpolished”.
BUT...she WAS the Delaware GOP nominee in 2008 to run against Joe Biden. Biden ran for both Senator of Delaware AND VP...may I remind?
Now that same Delaware GOP is going after this woman so much it really sickens.
She had a house foreclosed on. So? As I recall the entire Dem party, which Mike Castle belongs to, gave away lots of money to folks who didn’t pay their mortgages. O’Donnell didn’t move and leave others to carry her house loan, however. She had a boyfriend of some such buy it so if the libs boohoo over those who lost a home, why is it so awful that Christine lost hers?
She got audited by the IRS and they released it all over the place. BUT I read it and it’s a big nothing burger. O’Donnell is evidently not the best bookkeeper but hey, I’m sure Castle and Biden spend hours everyday doing their books and categorizing receipts. I read the IRS letter with my own lying eyes and they accepted the travel receipts she finally submitted...evidently late.
There were some issues with past campaign workers....again...nothing burgers...no huge amounts of money, couple hundred bucks. She says the issue was submission of invoices and such...whoever they are...well she’s never been sued if it’s that big a deal.
Something else with her college loan. again, nothing, nothing...the sort of stuff we’ve all had in our lifetimes.
But the Delaware GOP is out beating the hell out of this woman who THEY nominated in 2008! Now she’s a lying scum bucket.
WAS THE DELAWARE GOP LYING THEN OR ARE THEY LYING NOW?

Please don’t join the liars. We’ve seen this happen to Sarah Palin, Nikki Hayley....don’t become part of it too.
The Delaware GOP nominated her in 2008 to run against Biden.
If she’s unbalanced now was she also unbalanced then?
Or could the difference be now she’s running against Mighty Mike Castle?

"As the hand-picked choice of the popular Governor du Pont, he easily won election as Governor of Delaware, defeating former Delaware Supreme Court Justice William T. Quillen. In the campaign, Castle was criticized for being a shadow of his mentor and only promising an extension of du Ponts program.
Delaware voters however elected him to another term in 1988 when he defeated Democrat Jacob Kreshtool by a wide margin. Castle served two terms when he resigned to begin his first term as U.S. Representative.
Castles terms marked the full establishment of what Delaware political commentator Celia Cohen has called the Age of Incumbency. Following du Ponts very successful and popular terms as Governor, Delaware politics seemed to have reached a consensus, with leaders of both parties being regularly re-elected, while working closely and quietly together on a conservative fiscal low tax, pro business, and clean government agenda.
Prior to du Pont only four men had served eight years as Governor and one of those had two non-consecutive terms. From 1977 until the present there have been four governors, two from each party, each emulating Castle in essentially carrying out the program initiated by Pierre S. du Pont, IV."
-Even Wiki pegs him as a RINO.

Weve seen this happen to Sarah Palin, Nikki Hayley.... O'Donnell is more like Dan Maes than she is like Haley or Palin, wouldn't you agree?

Sarah has not endorsed her. She presumably has her reasons for staying out of it.
I feel the same way about Castle as most folks around here, however, Christine presents another set of challenges. I do not believe she can win in the general and will be very surprised if she prevails in the primary.
To: mac_truck; Fishtalk
Castle has a Lifetime conservative voting record of 52.49. In contrast, McCain's rating is 81.97.
Just to put Castle into perspective.

These are the types of rumors that are not helping credibility.
Well, at least the “switch to democrat” part. It is quite possible Castle won’t stay around forever, but most old men who go into the Senate can’t be drug away except on a stretcher.
Castle doesn’t seem the type to give up power once he has it.
