Harry Reid Looks to Resurrect RES During Lame-Duck (Cutoff the Democrats' Last Stand.)
ATR ^ | 9/2/10 | Christopher Prandoni

Harry Reid (D-Nev.) made news Tuesday when he announced that he would try to pass an energy bill during the lame-duck session. This comes as a surprise to most as Reid pulled his energy bill right before recess began as he couldn’t muster up the requisite votes. Even more surprising is that Reid said a key component of his lame-duck bill would be a national Renewable Electricity Standard (RES), a contentions policy amongst Members.

RES requires that a percentage of a state’s energy production be derived from “clean” energy sources, generally understood as wind and solar. Government imposed RES are necessary because wind and solar are not economically viable, they need government subsidies and mandates to compete with cheaper forms of energy.

While some think this is a political move to drum up support from the environmental lobby--Mr. Reid is currently involved in a heated primary debate with Republican Sharron Angle—let’s take Reid at his word. What are the economic implications for a national RES?..

The Republican filibuster better start on November 3 and last until the Dems are carried out kicking and screaming in January. Nothing good can come out of Congress in those two months.

Me thinks Harry doesn’t want to get re-elected.

These hateful, sick, anti-American bastards will try to do as much damage to America as they can before they are finally thrown out of Congress, and the building is sterilized.....and sprayed for COCKROACHES.

It's not that he doesn't WANT to get re-elected, it's that, like his hero Obama, he knows he's NOT going to get re-elected so he wants to shaft the country as deeply as he can before he leaves.

Traitorous POS. Both of them.

Would the dems in the senate have the votes to pass anything controversial during the lame duck session? It seems to me for those dem senators not running this Nov. any such action would be future political suicide. Doesn’t make sense to climb in bed with a dead guy.

may as well toss the last shovel full of dirt on the economy on the way out.

these vindictive pricks will be a true danger during their lameduck session, should it be.

Several of the Senate seats up for grabs (Illinois and West Virginia and possibly Biden's seat) are special elections and as such the new Senator is seated immediately, not having to wait for January. So if we pick those up Dingy Hairy will be in even worse shape than he is now.

I have posted this before and I will keep posting it because I know in my heart that I am right about this, that NO matter how bad November is for the Democrats you can expect Zero to double down on his agenda. I don’t believe that the November elections will change things as much as so many do.

Even if there is the BIGGEST turnover in history this November the Obama/Pelosi/Reid are such a pack of narcissist that they will come back during the ‘lame duck’ session and pass every far left-wing bill they can think of! They will burn the house down before they surrender it!

If you think or anyone thinks that a big loss in November will make one iota of difference in Obama and the ‘Demonrats’ leftist agenda you need to seek professional help immediately, because I assure you that the sounds you will hear coming from them after such a lost will not be the ‘wailing and nashing of teeth’ it will be the notes of El Degüello.

IMHO I am not sure the November elections will provide the relief we think but I am almost positive what it will bring us a National ‘Battle of Athens’ moment ( http://www.rootsweb.ancestry.com/~tnnews/kns001.htm )A time in which it will require action to secure our vote and save the Republic.

If they dobn;t do that then they’d better be prepared for a crowd larger than the one against healthcare and one that is much less polite! Think French revolution here!
