Media continues to suggest public release of pistol permit information is necessary
Radio Vice Online ^ | Sept. 1, 2010 | Steve McGough

Connecticut state law does not allow pistol permit records to be available to the public. Many states do allow this information to be released, and some media outlets – in a drive to increase page views – have published the full databases including private information simply because it’s “public record.”

A journalist at the Hartford Courant suggests the information should be made public, but there is no reasonable reason to do so ... other than continue the stereotype that guns are bad, gun people are a strange lot who must be monitored, and the media's goal of increasing page views with a paranoia-induced gossip-creating web application.

“Papers please!”

No documentation on illegal immigrants but yes tracking of those exercising their legal constitutional rights.

What they want is to intimidate gun owners. It would also highlight homes where guns may be available for theft.
“Free press” has become a menace.

Journalists bames and adresses should be published.

They are a part of the public record. They gave up their right to hide such info when they used a public by-line.

I want their names and adresses...for the public safety.

If four out of five people had concealed carry permits, then releasing lists of those people would be as useless as releasing lists of those who have televisions or refrigerators.

A journalist at the Hartford Courant suggests the information should be made public,

Tell you what, you journalistic pinhead - why don't you first publish in your paper a list of all of your valuables that might be of interest to burglars, and then get back to us?

These leftists think that all people with a gun permit are dangerous. They are willing to violate their privacy.
Meanwhile, they deliberately wish to keep guns in the hands of dangerous criminals.
