Obama deliberately keeps himself a blank slate so that anyone can paint on him the picture they want....the picture that most satisfies their emotional needs.
Therefore, by his own words, deeds and lack of deeds, hints and false trails he is viewed variously as a Christian, a Muslim, an atheist, a deist, a nihilist, a secular humanist....or whatever floats the observer's boat. Take your pick. He will never prove or disprove what the observer wants to believe he is.
He will NEVER clear up any mystery regarding his religion. Why lose half the Christians by admitting he's a Muslim? Why lose most Muslims by proving he's a practicing Christian? Why upset all unbelievers by showing he believes in anything at all?
Likewise with his origins. Would the observer like to think he's American, Kenyan, Indonesian, British.....or whatever floats the observer's boat? Be his guest. He keeps himself a blank slate, offering no proof of his nationality. The observer can imprint on him the lineage and national origins they ache to believe....and he will disabuse no one of anything.
Obama has created himself into Everyman, a position he loves to be in. He figures the total populace cannot fault him on EVERYTHING as long as he remains viewed as what they want him to be on SOME things.
The only thing he's firm about is his choice to be viewed as "black". He knows and we know this is a lie, that he's half and half, just as much white as he is black.
But he rode to victory on this lie and why should he change the perception that he's black? It worked for him. But, in his clever way, he's totally agreeable that some folks think him black, others think he's white, others know he's equally mixed. Be happy. Take your pick. Again, he's a blank slate, and everyone can paint him the racial composition they feel most comfortable with.
This is evil genius....and once people understand what his tactic is in regards to his religion and race, it pretty much explains the evilness in all the political and economic tactics he employs.....evil strategy, dishonesty, sleight-of-hand and manipulation being the core components.
One such tactic is assigning everything that he does or is about to do policy-wise to someone else, Bush, his czars, big business, the weather, right-wing radio, British Petroleum, religious Bible clutchers.....his enemies are so numerous that anyone can find their own enemies among them to blame for their own worries and woes.....and feel comfortable with agreeing with him on at least one thing or another.
Except for Lucifer himself, I don't believe in bogey-men like an earthly anti-Christ among us, but if there is one, the nimble, cunning Barack Hussein Obama is the one.
Every morning he sprays himself with Teflon to go out into the world armored against goodness and sanity. But even Teflon scratches, decays and wears off. God willing, the same will happen with the most diabolical flim-flam man and con artist this nation has ever experienced.
Of course, these observations of mine regarding peoples' credulity concerning Obama are descriptive of naive or politically/psychologically uneducated masses who unfortunately hold the majority vote.
Educated folk such as Freepers, conservative political tacticians and psychologists know this man inside and out for who and what he is....and how he does it.

Why do 20% believe that he's a Muslim? Easy..because about 50% don't believe that he's ( as he has stated) a "committed Christian." We have a wide range of Christian denominations in this country but the one common thread we all share is the desire for the communal worshop experience..that is most of us go to church most Sundays...It's what we do..the shared worship experience, the Eucharist ( for some) fellowship....and when you don't go..heck can't even find a church to attend in 18 months in DC..well....it speaks for itself..
BTW, the anti-Christ is not a "bogey-man" - it is both a spirit (that of those who deny that Messiah has come in the flesh) and a real individual who is a man of lawlessness who comes to implement the dreams from his father, the devil.
