Tuesday, August 24, 2010 ISRAEL ORDERS MASSIVE MILITARY FUEL STOCKS FAR IN EXCESS OF THAT REQUIRED FOR NORMAL OPERATIONS Three weeks ago the US Defence Security Cooperation Agency (DSCA) published a notice, as it is legally required to do, announcing that Israel has ordered massive quantities of various fuels suitable for military use, and in the case of the order for JP-8 jet fuel, suitable only for military use.
The massive order is valued at some $2 billion and, as well as the 284 million gallons (1.075 billion litres) of JP-8 jet fuel, the order also includes 60 million gallons (227 million litres) of unleaded gasoline and 100 million gallons (378 million litres) of diesel fuel.
Last week I wrote of how it would not be possible for Israel to mount a unilateral strike against Iran because Israel would require complete connivance and support for such a strike from the US. I explained, as I have in the past, how it would be necessary for the US to supply the massive amounts of fuel need for such a strike. If Israel were to strike Iran, Israel would only require the massive amounts of jet fuel and over a billion litres of jet fuel would be more that enough to do the job in practical terms.
If Israel were planning to strike Iran then that would explain the requirement for the large amounts of JP-8 fuel. However, it does not explain Israels need for such large amounts of gasoline and diesel fuel since an Israeli strike against Iran is unlikely to include any type of ground incursion into Iran for which these fuels would be used. The only conclusion one can draw, if Israel is not planning to actually invade Iran, which, clearly, it could not, is that Israel is planning to use the gasoline and the diesel fuel for some other ground incursion and that can only mean an invasion of Lebanon and possibly the Gaza and West Bank when an attack against Iran is launched.
This massive order begs the question; is the final confrontation imminent? And, if not, then what is all this fuel for?
Time will tell. Jet fuel, if its going to be used in peak condition, doesnt have a very long shelf life.

JP fuels are designated JP-4, JP-5 and so on. The shelf life is about 18 months, though the common recommendation is not to use fuel more than about 6-8 months old except in an emergency.

Diesel fuel has a 3-4 month shelf life

I bet they brought the oil and gas for cover. After all, it’ll keep.
October 7th: Iran finds out what all the jet fuel is for.
I guess they are planning a huge flight training program? ;o)
Israel has coniditioning units to keep fuel fresh in case of embargo.
Its storage is also underground, where it is cool, which extends the life of the product.
Most JP is stored on the tarmac, which is part of the reason for the short shelf life.
The author makes a big mistake: it’s not the fuel you need for the attack, but also the fuel you need for the sure-to-follow embargo by other oil producers in the ME.
How far out can they realistically preserve the disel, even with the conditioning units?
what is Israel’s ordering history? (Pattern over last year or so)
Did they have other ordering spikes before attacks? (assuming this is a spike)
Thanks in advance,

One thing about posting speculations...."loose lips..."
Just saying...best they be caught totally by surprise....
I would think that with Bambi selling out Israel, Israel wants to be prepared in the event the rockets start flying.
Bacteria and other muck actually grow in diesel. Owners of diesel powered boats that spent lots of time moored have fuel polishing systems that constantly filter the fuel keeping it ready and use able for a year or so.
Stabilizers can also be added.
Right after or before Rosh Hashana?
Diesel fuel has an 18 month shelf life. Maybe longer.
It is wise to prepare for eventualities is it not?
Go Israel, peace to Israel throw the elimination of satanic Islamic power..

Who is the MSM to define “normal operations” for Israel?
Why don’t they take a look at Iran..see if that state is “normal”.
Israel has the right and needs to defend itself, they know Iran’s intentions, it is not a card game, it is clear principles on which the future will be lived. Israel must not allow them to become so strong there is no hope left. And the Christian world needs to step up and give total support in conquering the Islamic insanity we so far have appeased. I hate war, I hate that mankind has not found the heart of God and the salvation which only Jesus brings, but I am not so foolish as the think getting along with the enemy is any more than a slow stranle hold on the only path worth pursuing.. Peace to Israel through the destruction of Islam..
Gasoline also does not have a long shelf life. Whatever this is for, it would be in the nbext few months.
