Why do they want to hurt the little guy?
Founding Ideals ^

As I look over 18 months of “Hope and Change” policies, one consistent theme comes into sharp focus. These programs hurt the working poor and middle class. If Democrats wonder why they are going to get their backside handed to them in the upcoming November elections, perhaps they can start by examining their own failed policies. Here’s a brief synopsis of some of the Obama administration’s “achievements” and how they hurt the poor and middle class in this country.

There is no doubt that the policies of this administration are putting the crunch on regular folks. From policies that destroy jobs, to laws that make it harder for regular people to buy cars and get health insurance. The one thing that is for sure, if your a big company, or big union, this administration is helping eliminate the small competition.

the oligarchs have fixated on the idea that anyone who makes over $200K, owns a house, or has a retirement account is “rich” and needs to be forced to “give back” to the “hard working”

So that the “little guy” becomes dependant on the state.

If they let the job creators keep their money and thus, provide the jobs for the “little guy”, they wouldn’t be able to create a dependant class of voters.

Because the theory in Progressive circles, around since the FDR and the New Deal, is that by creating a dependent class subservient to the Federal Government Bureaucracy for their very livelihood, the “Little Guy” will show up every 2 years and reliably vote D in order to keep the subsistence level of “Government Aid” flowing.

The last thing the Democrat Party, the party of Big Government, can afford is for the “little guy” to learn the real slave masters in our society who are working so hard to destroy their fiscal security mostly have D's next to their names.

What do you expect from an administration with so little real world experience? Everything is theoretical to these guys and the 200k “income” is the limit they've chosen. If you live in some big cities, 200k couldn't even buy you a pot to pee in. What is the most frustrating is that when you bust your @ss for 20-30 years to get to the point that you can earn that amount, it gets taken away from you. Rich enough to be a target, not rich enough to take advantage of the tax breaks that allow people like John Kerry to avoid their taxes.

Nice article.

He points out how 3B $ cash for clunkers has raised the prices of used cars hurting the working poor and middle class, And how Obama care has raised the price of health care, after promising to reduce it and how it increased paperwork for small businesses. Lastly he talked about Obama and democrats demonize Citizens United v. FEC which allows small businesses not part of PACs or having lobbyists to have same freedom of speech that big corporations do.

Because they hate this country, especially the descendents of Europeans who founded and built up this country. They have their eyes on the money earned honestly by the normal people and want desperately to grab it and give it to people who will vote democrat.

“...the “Little Guy” will show up every 2 years and reliably vote D in order to keep the subsistence level of “Government Aid” flowing.”

That pretty much sums it up. These people are so drunk on their influence and hubris, that they would destroy the very fabric of our country just for a taste of power.

And this isn’t new, it’s been done with great success in other countries that have fallen into tyranny, where the middle class becomes impoverished to the point where all they can do is worry about day to day survival. Who worries about politics when your belly is empty and all you want to do is have your family make it to the next day alive?

Of course, the “leaders” at the top of the food chain live very well, indeed. Maybe “parasitical thugs” would be a more accurate description.

In doing the historical research for the book Pursuing Liberty, this ugly theme kept coming up in “workers paradises” like Venezuela, Cuba, the former Soviet Union, Viet Nam, etc. And it didn’t happen overnight, either. Everyday, middle class people fell into the trap of slowly surrendering control of their lives to an ever expanding government that promised them goodies in exchange. Of course, the goodies never materialized, but the freedoms were lost forever.

And once liberty is gone, it doesn’t come back on it’s own.

At least we’re smart enough to learn from the recent histories of others, and not blindly lurch down the same suicidal path.

I hope.

The lefties, progressives etc, are like drug users and their addiction is called the ‘desire to be needed’.

Their addiction leads them to destroy rather than create in order to feed their habit.

We the people are their drug and the more they can create chaos, the more they feed their habit.

Simple. Make life so miserable a’la the Great Depression and you’ll have a desperate population willing to support such commie crap as BO and his followers in eliminating the Constitution, and seizing total power to “save” the nation. “Never let a crisis go to waste (even if it’s a crisis you manufacture)”

Thanks, Johnnie.

This project was really interesting for me. Once I got over the depression of seeing too many parallels between our country and others that fell, it was an incredible learning experience.

It was important to get the book out into the market before the November elections, and hopefully open a few eyes that are shut with the thought “it can’t happen here”.

It most certainly can happen here. And with each new over-reaching outrage from our government, people are starting to get numb from the constant pummeling.

And I worry about our kids who don’t get the same historical perspective that we did just a few decades ago. These are our new voters, who walk around dressed in “Che” adorned clothing while never being exposed to the concept of critical thinking.

Oy.

Obama knows you can’t control the people when you have a strong middle class. He is out to destroy the middle class.

I recently learned firsthand how much damage “Cash for Clunkers” did. I blew the engine in my 10 year-old vehicle and my wife and I decided that we would just replace it with another used car . . . . . . . until we went looking.

The prices for used vehicles were pretty high and the more we looked, the more we realized that we would not be able to replace our used vehicle without getting a used vehicle . . . and the loan to pay the balance after our down payment.

After a little bit of tinkering on the calculator, we decided that we could repair our vehicle for less than it would cost to replace it; we would still have a used vehicle, but we wouldn’t have a note and, best of all, repairing it wouldn’t cost nearly as much as a replacement and we would have money left over from our “down payment”.

Good job, zero!

(You moron!)

These programs hurt the working poor and middle class.

Oh yes, but they help Obama's base- the leftist elite, the government unionists and the moochers.

We were also recently in need of a new vehicle and we (again) bought a used auto. The prices for even a 5-10 year old large American SUVs and trucks were incredible. We looked for some time before finding the perfect fit that was in our budget. The vehicle is American made, tough as nails, easy to work on and repair and it hauls the entire family, plus the dog. No car payments.

With the government screwing up this much, it’s important to be as debt free as possible.

Thank you, Johnnie! Now that Labor Day is coming, and everyone else will start paying attention to the election, it’s crucial that they know what this administration is pushing us towards.

It was an amazing experience, talking to these wonderful patriots by choice about their lives under tyranny, and what they see happening here.
