"It was also worried the weapons could be smuggled to terrorists, gangs or other people with bad intentions."

How many lives must be lost to gang-bangers and their damned M1 rifles?! Those rifles are light and too easy to conceal! /s

Can you imagine what that would have done to the price of one? Instead of going for $700+, they would actually be affordable. I hope South Korea takes good care of them untill they can dump them on us!

An armed man is a citizen. An unarmed man is a subject.

Obama wants subjects.

Keep it up Zero, yer making our efforts to kick you out of office that much easier. Keep screwing around with gun owners and our CIVIL rights...

Is 0bama hoping to sell them to his friends fighting our troops in the Middle East?

That would be consistent with his previous behavior patterns.

Iran about to get nukes and 0bama doesn’t lift a finger. Americans about to get collectible rifles and an administrative roadblock is erected immediately. Very telling...

“These self-loading were rifles introduced in 1926 and 1941.”

No friggen way on the 1926 date. Maybe 1936 for the Garand.

The M-1 is too heavy for the lazy pants down thugs to tote...not to mention most of them are too stupid to figure out how to reload without losing a finger....now the carbine is another matter...sweet little weapon..

There are still M1’s that can be purchased in the states. Most gun shows have vendors that are still selling them. What this tur* has done is caused the price of one to increase.

I pray that this joke is a one termer!!!

Greece had a big sale of M-1 Garands just about a year ago, and was fetching $500 a copy for mostly unfired, or fired very little weapons, many still in the original packaging. I recall some fellow posting pictures of the one he got for five hundred bucks when mint condition Garands were easily fetching a Grand or so a copy.

I hope these hit the market all at once and drive the prices way down. It would be nice to have one of these in the closet, not necessarily for me, but for the guy next door who shows up empty handed when TSHTF...

These all fire 30.06 Winchester, correct??

Arrogant closet-case Muzzie prick. This is a Pearl Harbor on the 2nd Amendment by going after the C&R market, and you betchum it won't stop there. Not that M-1's are dirt cheap (and they're beautiful long guns), but C&R (curio and relic) weapons are the working man's way of building an impressive, functional collection without re-mortgaging the house. C&R's aren't your average Saturday Night Specials - many were first-line weapons of their era, and ammo is not only still in production, but plentiful and inexpensive. The Soviet Mosin-Nagant 91/30 is a prime example, and can still be had as an arsenal refurb for under $100. Bolt action, sure, but it chambers a 7.62x54r load that could blow the tread off a Panzer tank in it's day. They weren't called the Baltic Flamethrower for nothing.

"But know this, that in the last days perilous times will come: for men will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, unloving, unforgiving, slanderers, without self-control, brutal, despisers of good, traitors, headstrong, haughty, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God, having a form of godliness but denying its power. And from such people turn away, for his name is Obama."
